Triangle-Intersecting Families of Graphs [PDF]
A family of graphs F is said to be triangle-intersecting if for any two graphs G,H in F, the intersection of G and H contains a triangle. A conjecture of Simonovits and Sos from 1976 states that the largest triangle-intersecting families of graphs on a ...

A novel approach for alloy development in laser powder bed fusion is introduced. Instead of producing massive samples of one composition at a time, prepressed powder bed samples produced from powder mixtures are processed. Guidelines for the selection of precursor powders are developed.

Sharp asymptotic behavior for wetting models in (1+1)-dimension [PDF]
We consider continuous and discrete (1+1)-dimensional wetting models which undergo a localization/delocalization phase transition. Using a simple approach based on Renewal Theory we determine the precise asymptotic behavior of the partition function ...

Additive manufacturing technologies like laser powder‐bed fusion offer great design freedom and individualization of products down to a batch size of one. However, parts fabricated with this technology suffer from poor quality. Acoustic assistance during the build process can minimize these drawbacks.

When realized as inserts in high‐pressure die casting, aluminum cooling channels for electric powertrain components and similar applications typically require a stabilizing filler to survive the process. The present study investigates relinquishing this filler using additively manufactured inserts promising performance improvements.

Dislocation‐Mediated Thermoelectric Performance and Mechanical Behavior
Dislocations can scatter phonons to reduce thermal conductivity, thereby enhance thermoelectric performance. However, dislocations also impact mechanical properties, leading to increased brittleness and altered plasticity. It is essential to clarify the complex relationship between dislocations, thermal transport, and mechanical stability to achieve a ...

High‐performance nickel‐based superalloys are often not processible in additive manufacturing (AM) due to hot cracking. The findings in this manuscript propose an efficient method to mitigate cracking and enhance mechanical properties of these alloys by producing a metal matrix composite, contributing to the material and process perspective of the AM ...

In the present study, metastable CrMnNi steels with varying chemical compositions and a concomitantly altered stacking fault energy are processed via directed energy deposition and afterwards tested via tensile tests at different temperatures. The present study shows the influence of the manufacturing process on the elemental deformation mechanisms for
