Deciphering Tryptophan Oxygenation: Key Modulators of 2‐Oxindole Formation in MarE

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
MarE, a heme‐dependent aromatic oxygenase with a histidyl axial ligated, catalyzes the monooxygention of β‐methyl‐L‐tryptophan, to form a 2‐oxindole scaffold central to maremycin biosynthesis. Although structurally similar to tryptophan 2,3‐dioxygenase (TDO), which initiates L‐tryptophan catabolism via dioxygenation, MarE exhibits distinct reactivity ...

Showcasing the Structure and Properties of Lanthanide‐Doped BaTiO3

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Understanding the defect chemistry of Ln‐doped BTO, as well as the distribution of Ln ions inside the BTO host, is a challenge in the study of functional perovskite oxides. It provides important insights into the future development of Ln‐doped BTO materials, particularly in the context of low‐carbon transition strategies and renewable technologies that

Gout and NLRP3 Inflammasome Biology

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
This review describes the three broad stages of acute inflammation in the context of gout: initiation, leucocyte mobilization, and self‐resolution. A typical case of a gout flare is presented. The role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in acute monosodium urate crystal–induced inflammation is reviewed in detail.

The history of anatomical engagement

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The public's fascination with anatomy has evolved over time and progressed from avoidance of the tainted yet saintly corpse, to their fascination with cabinets of curiosities. The current narrative review explores public engagement (PE), from its potential origins as cave paintings, to the rise of the disciplinarity of anatomy.
