Mixed VOx/WOx sites for NH3‐SCR activity in W‐promoted V2O5/TiO2 catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Accepted Article.
Tungsten is often used as a promoter in VOx/TiO2 catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx by ammonia (NH3‐SCR). To better understand the role of tungsten, we have investigated the dispersion of V and W, and the activity of catalysts with variable V and W contents.

The Effect of Regioisomerism on the TADF Properties of Organic Dyes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
The properties of TADF emitters are highly dependent on the chosen electron donor and acceptor, as well as the π‐system that links them together. Herein, we show that regioisomerism affects the physical properties of spirobifluorene‐based systems in solution, thin films and crystals.

Sustainable Carbon‐Based Catalyst Materials Derived From Lignocellulosic Biomass for Energy Storage and Conversion: Atomic Modulation and Properties Improvement

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Carbon electrocatalyst materials based on lignocellulosic biomass with multi‐components, various dimensions, high carbon content, and hierarchical morphology structures have gained popularity in electrocatalytic applications. This review highlights the recent advances in the rational design of lignocellulosic‐based carbon electrocatalysts from an ...

Scrambled RGD hexameric peptide hydrogel supports efficient self‐assembly and cell activity

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
Amino acid sequence is crucial in controlling peptide‐based hydrogel formation, whereby changing the position of a single amino acid can significantly alter the gel’s properties. Herein, we report the gelation kinetics and cell viability of scrFmoc‐GFFRDG (where we have scrambled the RGD‐based gel hexapeptide; Fmoc‐GFFRGD).

Halogen Bond‐Driven Ligand Displacement: Co‐crystal Lattice vs Coordination Bonds

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
Coordination bonds are generally stronger than halogen bonds; however, the Jahn‐Teller effect in d⁹ Cu(II) and the trans influence of the oxo‐ligand in vanadyl (V=O) acetylacetonates can weaken N→Cu/V bonds, bringing them closer to the upper range of halogen bond strength. The study investigates the interactions between transition metal acetylacetonate

DNA‐binding properties of non‐intercalating water‐soluble organometallic Ir(III) luminophores

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
A series of Ir(III) complexes, [Ir(C^N)2(en)]+ (where C^N = 2‐phenyl‐benzo[d]thiazolyl cyclometalating ligand; en = ethylene diamine), are reported with structural variation via a substituent (H, Me, OMe, Cl, OCF3) at the coordinated phenyl ring.

Design and Evaluation of Bivalent K‐Ras Inhibitors that Target the CAAX Binding Site and the Acidic Surface of Farnesyltransferase and Geranylgeranyltransferase I

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Accepted Article.
Mutant K‐Ras drives cancer through its membrane localization, which requires post‐translational modification by farnesyltransferase (FTase). FTase attaches farnesyl to the K‐Ras C‐terminal CVIM tetrapeptide, enabling membrane binding. However, K‐Ras can also undergo compensatory geranylgeranylation by geranylgeranyltransferase I (GGTase I), making ...
