Serum Uric Acid Levels in Older Adults: Associations With Clinical Outcomes and Implications for Reference Intervals in Those Aged 70 Years and Over

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Reports have linked both high and low serum uric acid (SUA) levels to adverse health outcomes. This study aimed to establish a reference interval for SUA in older adults and assessed its association with clinically relevant outcomes in relatively healthy, community‐dwelling individuals aged ≥70 years old.

Hans Urs von Balthasar, Metaphysics, and the Problem of Onto-Theology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Heidegger's question “How does the god enter philosophy?”, has been echoing and re-echoing in theology so incessantly it may be said to have acquired something like the authority of tradition.

Deep GMRT 150 MHz observations of the LBDS-Lynx region: Ultra-Steep Spectrum Radio Sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
It has been known for nearly three decades that high redshift radio galaxies exhibit steep radio spectra, and hence ultra-steep spectrum radio sources provide candidates for high-redshift radio galaxies.

MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL TREATMENT REDUCES THE RISK OF TREATMENT ESCALATION DUE TO VASCULAR COMPLICATIONS IN LIMITED CUTANEOUS SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS: EMULATION OF A TARGET TRIAL FROM ITALIAN RHEUMATOLOGY SOCIETY SPRING REGISTRY

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon due to the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of the vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

The statistical parton distributions: status and prospects

open access: yes, 2004
New experimental results on polarized structure functions, cross sections for $e^{\pm}p$ neutral and charge current reactions and $\nu$ ($\bar{\nu}$) charge current on isoscalar targets are compared with predictions using the statistical parton ...

New Onset of Fibromyalgia After Exposure to a Combat Environment: A Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Traumatic life events are hypothesized to be triggers for the onset of fibromyalgia. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common comorbidity of fibromyalgia. However, limited prospective data are available on the development of fibromyalgia after exposure to high magnitude stress.

Radio Spectral Index and Expansion of 3C58

open access: yes, 2001
We present new observations of the plerionic supernova remnant 3C58 with the VLA at 74 and 327 MHz. In addition, we re-reduced earlier observations at 1.4 and 4.9 GHz taken in 1973 and 1984. Comparing these various images, we find that: 1.

Derivation of a Hele-Shaw type system from a cell model with active motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We formulate a Hele-Shaw type free boundary problem for a tumor growing under the combined effects of pressure forces, cell multiplication and active motion, the latter being the novelty of the present paper.

Copper‐based Materials for Photo and Electrocatalytic Process: Advancing Renewable Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cu‐based catalysts as a cornerstone in advancing sustainable energy technologies are fully reviewed in this manuscript, highlighting their potential in photo‐ and electrocatalysis. It includes metallic copper, copper oxides, copper sulfides, copper halide perovskites, copper‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs),
