Development and Validation of a One‐Dimensional Finite Difference Simulation Scheme for Polymer Laser Powder Bed Fusion with Application to the Effect of the Inter Layer Time

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents an efficient simulation approach for the polymer laser powder bed fusion process polymers process, validated with polyamide 12, polyamide 6, and polyetherketoneketone. It shows that inter layer time affects part density, with 90s yielding dense parts.

Experimental study of H2SO4 aerosol nucleation at high ionization levels [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2018
One hundred and ten direct measurements of aerosol nucleation rate at high ionization levels were performed in an 8 m3 reaction chamber. Neutral and ion-induced particle formation from sulfuric acid (H2SO4) was studied as a function of ionization and ...

Performance Evaluation of Upper‐Level Ontologies in Developing Materials Science Ontologies and Knowledge Graphs

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article provides examples of ontology development in the materials science domain (use‐case of Brinell hardness testing) and gives ontology developers an overview for selecting their desired top‐level ontologies (e.g., BFO, EMMO, PROVO) by considering different evaluation parameters like semantic richness, domain coverage, extensibility ...

Long-term meter wavelength variability study of Blazar J1415+1320 using the Ooty Radio Telescope [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
J1415+1320 is a well-studied blazar that exhibits strong flux density variability at a wide range of radio frequencies (2.4 $-$ 230~GHz). In this letter, we present a variability study of this source at 327~MHz using the data obtained with the Ooty Radio Telescope taken during the period 1989 to 2018.

The peculiar cluster HS 327 in the Large Magellanic Cloud: can OH/IR stars and carbon stars be twins? [PDF]

open access: yesAstron.Astrophys.368:239-249,2001, 2001
The obscured OH/IR star IRAS05298-6957 in the LMC was recently noticed to be member of the small double cluster HS 327 that also contains a carbon star (van Loon et al., 1998, A&A 329, 169). Hence they are coeval and have (nearly) the same progenitor mass, which can only be understood if Hot Bottom Burning (HBB) has prevented IRAS05298-6957 from being ...

Influence of concurrent medications on outcomes of men with prostate cancer included in the TAX 327 study.

open access: yesCanadian Urological Association journal = Journal de l'Association des urologues du Canada, 2013
OBJECTIVES The TAX 327 trial was pivotal in establishing docetaxel in castration refractory metastatic prostate cancer. Various commonly prescribed and over-the-counter co-administered medications are thought to exhibit anti-neoplastic properties and/or ...

Designing for Degradation: Transient Devices Enabled by (Nano)Cellulose

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Recent progress in transient devices enabled by (nano)cellulosic materials is reviewed. Transiency mechanisms, advantages of nanocelluloses, and a suite of applications are discussed. A circular thinking approach coupled with life cycle assessment is applied to critically revisit the potential, advantages, and challenges of nanocellulose‐enabled ...
