Cisplatin plus gemcitabine versus gemcitabine for biliary tract cancer.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2010
BACKGROUND There is no established standard chemotherapy for patients with locally advanced or metastatic biliary tract cancer. We initially conducted a randomized, phase 2 study involving 86 patients to compare cisplatin plus gemcitabine with ...

Strukturaufklärung, Totalsynthese, In‐Vivo‐Aktivität und Potentieller Biosyntheseweg des Neuen Myxobakteriellen Antibiotikums Corramycin**

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 134, Issue 51, December 19, 2022., 2022

Pioneering the Future: Principles, Advances, and Challenges in Organic Electrodes for Aqueous Ammonium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Leveraging the numerous advantages of ammonium‐ion (NH₄⁺)—including cost‐effectiveness, low corrosiveness, preferential orientation, and rapid diffusion kinetics—aqueous NH₄⁺ batteries (AAIBs) have gained significant attention. This review highlights and evaluates the progress of AAIBs utilizing organic electrode materials such as small molecules ...

Gain and Loss in Quantum Cascade Lasers [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica B 314, 327-331 (2002), 2001
We report gain calculations for a quantum cascade laser using a fully self-consistent quantum mechanical approach based on the theory of nonequilibrium Green functions. Both the absolute value of the gain as well as the spectral position at threshold are in excellent agreement with experimental findings for T=77 K.

Iodine‐Doped Sodium Vanadate Cathode for Improved Zn Ion Diffusion Kinetics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An iodine‐doping strategy is developed to modify the Na2V6O16·3H2O cathode for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries, effectively reducing the electrostatic interaction between zinc ions and the host structure. This modification enables faster diffusion and higher storage capacity of zinc ions. Abstract The electrostatic interaction between zinc ions and the host

CTQ 327: A New Gravitational Lens [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2003
We present the second gravitationally lensed quasar discovered during the course of a Hubble Space Telescope Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph snapshot survey for small-separation gravitational lenses. CTQ 327 is a double quasar with an image separation of 122 and a g-band flux ratio of roughly 5 to 1.
