Autoimmunity against laminin 332

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
Laminin 332 is a heterotrimeric structural protein of the basal membrane zone (BMZ) of the skin and adjacent mucosal tissues. The importance of laminin 332 for the structural integrity of the BMZ is demonstrated by mutations in any of the three genes encoding for its three chains causing variants of junctional epidermolysis bullosa.

Comparison of Two Diagnostic Assays for Anti-Laminin 332 Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Anti-laminin 332 mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP) is an autoimmune blistering disease characterized by predominant mucosal lesions and autoantibodies against laminin 332.

Anti-Laminin 332-Type Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2022
Anti-laminin (LM) 332-type mucous membrane pemphigoid (MMP) is a rare autoimmune bullous disease and was originally discovered as anti-epiligrin cicatricial pemphigoid.

CT facilitates improved diagnosis of adult intestinal malrotation: a 7-year retrospective study based on 332 cases

open access: yesInsights into Imaging, 2021
Objective To classify adult intestinal malrotation by CT. Methods This retrospective study enrolled adults diagnosed with intestinal malrotation who underwent abdominal CT at our institution between June 1, 2013, and August 30, 2020.

LAMININ 332 IS INDISPENSABLE FOR HOMEOSTATIC EPIDERMAL DIFFERENTIATION PROGRAMS.

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 2021
The skin epidermis is attached to the underlying dermis by a laminin 332-rich basement membrane. Consequently, loss of laminin 332 leads to the severe blistering disorder epidermolysis bullosa junctionalis in human and animals.

Laminin 332 in cancer: when the extracellular matrix turns signals from cell anchorage to cell movement.

open access: yesSeminars in Cancer Biology, 2020
Laminin 332 is crucial in the biology of epithelia. This large extracellular matrix protein consists of the heterotrimeric assembly of three subunits - α3, β3, and γ2 - and its multifunctionality relies on a number of extracellular proteolytic processing

Subunit-Specific Reactivity of Autoantibodies Against Laminin-332 Reveals Direct Inflammatory Mechanisms on Keratinocytes

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Laminin-332 pemphigoid is a rare and severe autoimmune blistering disease, caused by IgG autoantibodies targeting laminin-332 in the dermal-epidermal basement zone.

Gentamicin Induces Laminin 332 and Improves Wound Healing in Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa Patients with Nonsense Mutations

open access: yesMolecular Therapy, 2020
Generalized severe junctional epidermolysis bullosa (GS-JEB) is an incurable and fatal autosomal recessively inherited blistering skin disease caused by mutations in the LAMA3, LAMB3, or LAMC2 genes.

Laminin-332 mediates proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, migration and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Medicine Reports, 2020
The poor prognosis of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is primarily due to the invasive and metastatic behaviors of this disease. Laminin-332 (LM-332) is a key component of the basement membrane barrier, and is associated with tumor ...
