Homogenised models of nutrient transport in a fibrous bioreactor scaffold
Bioreactor scaffolds must be designed to facilitate adequate nutrient delivery to the growing tissue they support. For perfusion bioreactors, the dominant transport process is determined by the scale of fluid velocity relative to diffusion and the ...

Homogenisation of Wasserstein gradient flows
We prove the convergence of a Wasserstein gradient flow of a free energy in inhomogeneous media. Both the energy and media can depend on the spatial variable in a fast oscillatory manner.

Modelling of the fluid flow in a thin domain with injection through permeable boundary
In this paper, we derive the effective model describing a thin-domain flow with permeable boundary through which the fluid is injected into the domain. We start with incompressible Stokes system and perform the rigorous asymptotic analysis.

Integral constraints in multiple scales problems with a slowly varying microstructure
Asymptotic homogenisation is considered for problems with integral constraints imposed on a slowly varying microstructure; an insulator with an array of perfectly dielectric inclusions of slowly varying size serves as a paradigm.

On the heat kernel of the Rumin complex and Calderón reproducing formula
We derive several properties of the heat equation with the Hodge operator associated with the Rumin’s complex on Heisenberg groups and prove several properties of the fundamental solution.

Homogenization In A Periodic And Time Dependent Potential
. This paper contains a study of the long time behavior of a diffusion process in a periodic potential. The first goal is to determine a suitable rescaling of time and space so that the diffusion process converges to some homogeneous limit.

Homogenization of Compositional Flow in Fractured Porous Media
. We derive a dual-porosity model of multidimensional, multicomponent, three-phase flow in naturally fractured porous media from the (formal) mathematical theory of homogenization.

Band-Gap Structure Of Spectra Of Periodic Dielectric And Acoustic Media. I. Scalar Model
. We investigate the band-gap structure of the spectrum of second-order partial differential operators associated with the propagation of waves in a periodic two-component medium.
