Structured Models of Cell Migration Incorporating Molecular Binding Processes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
The dynamic interplay between collective cell movement and the various molecules involved in the accompanying cell signalling mechanisms plays a crucial role in many biological processes including normal tissue development and pathological scenarios such as wound healing and cancer.

Compensated Compactness in Banach Spaces and Weak Rigidity of Isometric Immersions of Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesNon-linear partial differential equations, mathematical physics, and stochastic analysis, 73--95, EMS Ser. Congr. Rep., Eur. Math. Soc., Z\"{u}rich, 2018, 2016
We present a compensated compactness theorem in Banach spaces established recently, whose formulation is originally motivated by the weak rigidity problem for isometric immersions of manifolds with lower regularity. As a corollary, a geometrically intrinsic div-curl lemma for tensor fields on Riemannian manifolds is obtained.

Global entropy solutions to a degenerate parabolic-parabolic chemotaxis system for flux-limited dispersal [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Existence of global finite-time bounded entropy solutions to a parabolic-parabolic system proposed in [16] is established in bounded domains under no-flux boundary conditions for nonnegative bounded initial data. This modification of the classical Keller-Segel model features degenerate diffusion and chemotaxis that are both subject to flux-saturation ...

A review on two types of sonic interfaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, two examples of sonic interfaces are presented. The first example shows the case of sonic interfaces as weak discontinuities in self-similar shock configurations of unsteady Euler system. The second example shows the case of sonic interfaces as regular interfaces in accelerating transonic flows governed by the steady Euler-Poisson system

Solutions of systems of certain Fermat-type PDDEs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The objective of this paper is to investigate the existence and the forms of the pair of finite order entire and meromorphic solutions of some certain systems of Fermat-type partial differential-difference equations of several complex variables. These results represent some refinements and generalizations of the earlier findings, especially the results

Classical solutions to a mixed-type PDE with a Keldysh-type degeneracy and accelerating transonic solutions to the Euler-Poisson system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, we first prove the existence of classical solutions to a class of Keldysh-type equations. Next, we apply this existence result to prove the structural stability of one-dimensional smooth transonic solutions to the steady Euler-Poisson system. Most importantly, the solutions constructed in this paper are classical solutions to the Euler-
