On Aharonov–Bohm Operators with Two Colliding Poles [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2017
We consider Aharonov–Bohm operators with two poles and prove sharp asymptotics for simple eigenvalues as the poles collapse at an interior point out of nodal lines of the limit eigenfunction.

Copy‐Number Variations Observed in a Japanese Population by BAC Array CGH: Summary of Relatively Rare CNVs [PDF]

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
Copy‐number variations (CNVs) may contribute to genetic variation in humans. Reports regarding existence and characteristics of CNVs in a large apparently healthy Japanese cohort are quite limited. We report the data from a screening of 213 unrelated Japanese individuals using comparative genomic hybridization based on a bacterial artificial chromosome

A proof of a trace formula by Richard Melrose

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2023
The goal of this article is to give a new proof of the wave trace formula proved by Richard Melrose in an impressive article. This trace formula is an extension of the Chazarain-Duistermaat-Guillemin trace formula (denoted as “CDG trace formula” in this ...

Evolution of the N=28 shell closure: a test bench for nuclear forces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The evolution of the N=28 shell closure is investigated far from stability. Using the latest results obtained from various experimental techniques, we discuss the main properties of the N=28 isotones, as well as those of the N=27 and N=29 isotones ...

NONCLASSICAL SPECTRAL ASYMPTOTICS AND DIXMIER TRACES: FROM CIRCLES TO CONTACT MANIFOLDS

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2017
We consider the spectral behavior and noncommutative geometry of commutators $[P,f]$ , where ...

An inertial manifold and the principle of spatial averaging

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 293-299, 2001., 2001
We examine the existence of inertial manifold of a class of differential equations with particular boundary conditions.

Courant-sharp eigenvalues of the three-dimensional square torus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we determine, in the case of the Laplacian on the flat three-dimensional torus $(\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z})^3$, all the eigenvalues having an eigenfunction which satisfies the Courant nodal domains theorem with equality (Courant-sharp ...

Nonlocal boundary value problem for second order abstract elliptic differential equation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 153-168, 1999., 1999
We establish conditions that guarantee Fredholm solvability in the Banach space Lp of nonlocal boundary value problems for elliptic abstract differential equations of the second order in an interval. Moreover, in the space L2 we prove in addition the coercive solvability, and the completeness of root functions (eigenfunctions and associated functions).

Rotationally invariant periodic solutions of semilinear wave equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 3, Issue 1-2, Page 171-180, 1998., 1998
Under suitable conditions we are able to solve the semilinear wave equation in any dimension. We are also able to compute the essential spectrum of the linear wave operator for the rotationally invariant periodic case.

Small eigenvalues of the low temperature linear relaxation Boltzmann equation with a confining potential [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study the linear relaxation Boltzmann equation, a simple semiclassical kinetic model. We provide a resolvent estimate for an associated non-selfadjoint operator as well as an estimate on the return to equilibrium. This is done using a scaling argument
