Functions of self‐adjoint operators in ideals of compact operators
Abstract For self‐adjoint operators A,B, a bounded operator J, and a function f:R→C, we obtain bounds in quasi‐normed ideals of compact operators for the difference f(A)J−Jf(B) in terms of the operator AJ−JB. The focus is on functions f that are smooth everywhere except for finitely many points. A typical example is the function f(t)=|t|γ with γ∈(0,1).

A construction of Triebel‐Lizorkin type spaces associated with flexible decompositions of the frequency space ℝd is considered. The class of admissible frequency decompositions is generated by a one parameter group of (anisotropic) dilations on ℝd and a suitable decomposition function.

On the exterior magnetic field and silent sources in magnetoencephalography
Two main results are included in this paper. The first one deals with the leading asymptotic term of the magnetic field outside any conductive medium. In accord with physical reality, it is proved mathematically that the leading approximation is a quadrupole term which means that the conductive brain tissue weakens the intensity of the magnetic field ...

On some parabolic problems with measure sources
One of the recent advances in the investigation of nonlinear parabolic equations with a measure as forcing term is a paper by F. Petitta in which it has been introduced the notion of renormalized solutions to the initial parabolic problem in divergence ...

Finite propagation speed and kernels of strictly elliptic operators
We establish estimates of the resolvent and other related kernels and discuss Lp‐theory for a class of strictly elliptic operators on Rn. The class of operators considered in the paper is of the form A0 + B with the leading elliptic part A0 and a “singular” perturbation B, whose coefficients have Lp‐type and are modeled after Schrödinger operators.

Local Elliptic Regularity for the Dirichlet Fractional Laplacian
We prove the Wloc2s,p${W_{{\mathrm{loc}}}^{2s,p}}$ local elliptic regularity of weak solutions to the Dirichlet problem associated with the fractional Laplacian on an arbitrary bounded open set of ℝN${\mathbb{R}^{N}}$. The key tool consists in analyzing
