Control failure risk, resistance and enzymatic activity of neurotoxic insecticides in Brazilian populations of Leucoptera coffeella (Lepidoptera: Lyonetiidae)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 6, Page 5757-5766, June 2026.
Bioassays of 36 Leucoptera coffeella populations revealed resistance to neurotoxic insecticides, control failures of ≤62.9% and enzyme activity variation, with particularly high GST and low AChE levels. Abstract Background Leucoptera coffeella is a key pest of coffee crops in Brazil, causing significant damage by mining coffee leaves.

Quantum simulation of small-polaron formation with trapped ions

open access: yes, 2012
We propose a quantum simulation of small-polaron physics using a one-dimensional system of trapped ions acted upon by off-resonant standing waves. This system, envisioned as an array of microtraps, in the single-excitation case allows the realization of ...

Bridging Color Standards: Aligning the Color‐Aid System with the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) and the Munsell Book of Color Coordinates

open access: yesColor Research &Application, Volume 51, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
The graphical abstract displays 67 color samples from the Color‐aid Corporation “Full Set” (CAC‐314) plotted in the CIE ab chromaticity plane based on the measurements reported in the current article. Each data point represents one color sample, labeled with its Color‐aid code, and positioned according to its measured CIE a* (red‐green axis) and b ...

Not All GLP‐1 Receptor Agonists Are Alike: Real‐World Evidence of Differential Endocrine and Dermatologic Safety

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 4, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) are widely used for metabolic disorders, but emerging safety concerns include alopecia and reproductive or endocrine‐related adverse events (AEs). This study investigated the association between specific GLP‐1 RAs and these endocrine‐related AEs using a large‐scale pharmacovigilance ...

Electrospun encapsulation of grape pomace extract: in vitro antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antihyperglycemic properties

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 7, Page 4247-4255, May 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND The escalating prevalence of lifestyle‐ and aged‐related conditions, including diabetes, chronic inflammation, and cardiovascular disorders, underscores the urgent need for natural therapies. Such alternatives should offer reduced side effects compared to conventional pharmaceuticals while playing a proactive role in disease ...

Contrasted habitat selection among Eurasian curlew populations according to landscape heterogeneity and breeding stage

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 4, May 2026.
This study aimed to quantify the spatio‐temporal use of breeding environments by the Eurasian curlew in 5 contrasting agricultural landscapes. To this end, 64 individuals were tagged with GPS devices to assess their space use according to their breeding stages and define their foraging habitat selection.
