Triptycene‐Based Tripodal Molecular Platforms: A Comparative Study of Photoswitchable Langmuir–Blodgett Films on Metallic and Nonmetallic Surfaces

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A modular triptycene‐based platform enables the preparation of Langmuir–Blodgett monolayers of structurally diverse molecular photoswitches on quartz and gold. Surface‐sensitive characterization and optical spectroscopy demonstrate that the intrinsic switching behavior is retained after surface immobilization. ABSTRACT Photoswitchable molecular systems

Differential sensitivity to SHH signaling and neural crest‐mediated Gas1 expression regulate jaw size during development and evolution

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Developmental control of jaw size is crucial to prevent birth defects and facilitate evolutionary adaptation. We have shown that jaw size is established by neural crest mesenchyme (NCM), which are progenitor cells that migrate into the mandibular primordia and produce the jaws.

Anatomy of a SPAN Particle: A Four‐Level Structural Framework for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Sulfurized polyacrylonitrile (SPAN) is a key cathode material for batteries. Borrowing the four‐level classification of protein structure, this perspective demonstrates SPAN's structural complexity into well‐defined levels, giving researchers clear research boundaries and targets at each level for improving battery performance.

Fluorescent Colored Passive Radiative Cooling Based on Carbon Dots for Cooling Power Recovery

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
We demonstrate colored passive radiative coolers consisting of a highly reflective porous ceramic base covered by an eco‐friendly luminescent carbon dot‐polymer composite, with two types of carbon dots enabling conversion of either ultraviolet or visible light, respectively.
