Geometrically‐Screened, Sterically‐Hindered Additive for Wide‐Temperature Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A molecular‑engineering strategy combining steric hindrance tuning with geometric optimization identifies cellobiose as an ideal additive for aqueous zinc‑ion batteries, enabling stable Zn deposition across a wide temperature range from −30 to 50 °C. Abstract Aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (AZIBs) are emerging as a highly promising alternative to lithium ...

La «Divina Comedia» a través del arte: un modelo de pervivencia en la memoria colectiva

open access: yesAla Este, 2022
Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy has reached our days as one of the most important works of universal literature. The so-called Commedia opened the doors to the modernity of the city of Florence, whose importance lasted in time until today. In this sense,

Coordination Polymers of Small Cyano Anions

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2013
Small cyano anions, and their derivatives, have proved to be remarkably versatile building blocks for coordination polymers. They have led to magnetically ordered materials, structures with new entangled motifs or novel topologies, and a ...

Localized High‐Concentration Electrolyte with Water‐Miscible Diluent Enables Stable Zinc Deposition and Long‐Life Aqueous Zinc Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A diisopropyl ether (DIPE)‐based, localized, high‐concentration electrolyte is developed to stabilize both electrodes in aqueous zinc batteries. By reducing water activity and promoting anion‐rich zinc‐ion solvation, it builds robust interphases at both the cathode and anode, ensuring uniform deposition, suppressed corrosion, and highly reversible ...

La antropomorfización en la poesía: la lagartija a través de tres obras

open access: yesAla Este, 2022
How the animal is represented in art is a topic that, given the ecological emergency, must be addressed in literary studies. This paper performs a comparative analysis of three poems by renowned authors from the Hispanic literature (Iriarte, Lorca and ...

Crystallisation and Preliminary Crystallographic Analysis of Helicobacter pylori Periplasmic Binding Protein YckK

open access: yesCrystals, 2017
Helicobacter pylori infection can lead to the development of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric cancer. In recent years, the efficacy of the standard therapy has been falling, necessitating ongoing efforts to identify new drug targets.

Cardiopulmonary and cerebrovascular acclimatization in children and adults at 3800 m

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, 2022
AbstractMaturational differences exist in cardiopulmonary and cerebrovascular function at sea‐level, but the impact of maturation on acclimatization responses to high altitude is unknown. Ten children (9.8 ± 2.5 years) and 10 adults (34.7 ± 7.1 years) were assessed at sea‐level (BL), 3000 m and twice over 4 days at 3800 m (B1, B4).

The Nuclear and Circum-nuclear Stellar Population in Seyfert 2 Galaxies: Implications for the Starburst-AGN Connection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We report the results of a spectroscopic investigation of a sample of 20 of the brightest type 2 Seyfert nuclei. Our goal is to search for the direct spectroscopic signature of massive stars, and thereby probe the role of circumnuclear starbursts in the ...

Biomaterials‐Based Hydrogel with Superior Bio‐Mimetic Ionic Conductivity and Tissue‐Matching Softness for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By mimicking the ion‐accelerating effect of ion channel receptors in neuron membranes, a biomaterials‐based ionic hydrogel (BIH) is developed, which offers a high ionic conductivity of 7.04 S m−1, outperforming conventional chitosan, cellulose, agarose, starch, and gelatin based ionic hydrogels.
