Rational Quartic Reciprocity [PDF]

open access: yesActa Arith. 67 (1994), 387-390, 2013
We provide a simple proof of the general rational quartic reciprocity law due to Williams, Hardy and Friesen.

Search for antihelium in cosmic rays [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) was flown on the space shuttle Discovery during flight STS-91 in a 51.7 degree orbit at altitudes between 320 and 390 km. A total of 2.86 * 10^6 helium nuclei were observed in the rigidity range 1 to 140 GV.

Cell Membrane Vesicle Camouflaged Artificial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Artificial cells camouflaged with a cell membrane vesicle coating are able to assemble into synthetic aggregates that exhibit rudimentary communication capabilities. Additionally, when these artificial cells are equipped with antioxidant capabilities, they are able to protect the intracellular homeostasis in HepG2 cells present in semi‐synthetic ...

Investigation of the Effect of Therapeutic Plasma Exchange for TAFRO Syndrome: A Pilot Study

open access: yesBiomedicines
TAFRO syndrome is a rare systemic inflammatory disorder with a fatal course. Nevertheless, a definitive treatment strategy has not yet been established. Anti-inflammatory therapies, including glucocorticoid treatment and immunosuppressants, have not been

Inkjet polarography

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2021
A single nozzle piezoelectric inkjet device was introduced for polarography using a dropping carbon fluid electrode (DCFE). The viscosity of the carbon fluid prepared by mixing a spherical graphite powder and a perfluoroalkane oil was low enough for it ...

Cellular Responses of Human Lymphatic Endothelial Cells to Carbon Nanomaterials

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
One of the greatest challenges to overcome in the pursuit of the medical application of carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) is safety. Particularly, when considering the use of CNMs in drug delivery systems (DDSs), evaluation of safety at the accumulation site ...

Hyperbranched Interpenetrating Hydrogen Bond Network (HIHBN) Proton Exchange Membrane for Fuel Cells Above 220 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel polymer electrolyte membrane with a hyperbranched interpenetrating hydrogen bond network structure is developed. The unique structure of the hyperbranched polymer contributes to a high glass transition temperature exceeding 400 °C, enabling its operation at elevated temperatures for fuel cell applications.

A Study on the Evaluation of Field Application of High-Fluidity Concrete Containing High Volume Fly Ash

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2015
In the recent concrete industry, high-fluidity concrete is being widely used for the pouring of dense reinforced concrete. Normally, in the case of high-fluidity concrete, it includes high binder contents, so it is necessary to replace part of the cement

Generalized Heisenberg Model [PDF]

open access: yesTheor.Math.Phys. 130 (2002) 383-390; Teor.Mat.Fiz. 130 (2002) 451-459, 2002
We consider the XXZ model for a chain of particles whose spins are arbitrary with the anisotropy parameter equal to the root of minus one and generalized periodic boundary conditions. The conditions for the truncation of the functional fusion relations of the transfer matrices are obtained.

H2O2‐Generating Advanced Nanomaterials for Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
H2O2‐generating nanoplatforms can exploit tumor redox imbalance for O2 and toxic reactive oxygen species generation, leading to hypoxia reversal, and apoptosis of cancer cells, respectively. This review highlights the mechanisms of these nanoplatforms, including exogenous H₂O₂ delivery, endogenous amplification, and metal peroxides, which leads to ...
