The IBM S/390 Sysplex Timer

[1991] Digest of Papers. Fault-Tolerant Computing: The Twenty-First International Symposium, 2002
The IBM S/390 Sysplex Timer, a centralized fault-tolerant time reference used in maintaining time-of-day synchronism between multiple closely coupled IBM S/390's, is presented. The basic Sysplex Timer organization is quad redundant, and its packaging is duplex.

S/390 microprocessor design

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 2000
The technical, business, and market requirements for large enterprise servers ("mainframes") strongly influence the design of microprocessors for these systems. Specific characteristics of the ESA/390 and z/Architecture instruction set architectures lead to different pipeline and branch prediction strategies than are found in most other microprocessors.

A 400-MHz S/390 microprocessor

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1997
A microprocessor implementing IBM S/390 architecture operates in a 10+2 way system at frequencies up to 411 MHz (2.43 ns). The chip is fabricated in a 0.2-/spl mu/m L/sub eff/ CMOS technology with five layers of metal and tungsten local interconnect. The chip size is 17.35 mm/spl times/17.30 mm with about 7.8 million transistors.

Regional deficits in brain volume in schizophrenia: a meta-analysis of voxel-based morphometry studies.

American Journal of Psychiatry, 2005
OBJECTIVE Voxel-based morphometry is a method for detecting group differences in the density or volume of brain matter. The authors reviewed the literature on use of voxel-based morphometry in schizophrenia imaging research to examine the capabilities of

Reynolds 390 Engine Technology

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1983
The Reynolds' 390 engine technology eliminates the need for iron bore liners in aluminum engines. This allows casting of the cylinder block and bores as an integral unit. The technology is a three-part system consisting of the hypereutectic 390 aluminum-silicon alloy, compatible pistons and a special cylinder bore finish.

S/390 cluster technology: Parallel Sysplex

IBM Systems Journal, 1997
This paper describes a clustered multiprocessor system developed for the general-purpose, large-scale commercial marketplace. The system (S/390e Parallel Sysplex™) is based on an architecture designed to combine the benefits of full data sharing and parallel processing in a highly scalable clustered computing environment.

Rate coefficients for the OH + HC(O)C(O)H (glyoxal) reaction between 210 and 390 K.

Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2008
Rate coefficients, k1(T), over the temperature range of 210-390 K are reported for the gas-phase reaction OH + HC(O)C(O)H (glyoxal) --> products at pressures between 45 and 300 Torr (He, N2).
