Stasis-theory in Homeric commentary [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
(i) Analysis of the small number of references to the rhetorical theory of stasis (issue-theory) in the Homeric scholia shows that they assume a modified version of the theory of Athenaeus, a contemporary and rival of Hermagoras of Temnos.

ErMn6Sn6: A Promising Kagome Antiferromagnetic Candidate for Room‐Temperature Nernst Effect‐Based Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work investigates the Nernst effect in the Kagome magnet ErMn6Sn6 which exhibits both topological and anomalous Nernst effects with the anomalous Nernst coefficient reaching 1.71 µV K⁻¹ at 300 K. This value surpasses that of most canted antiferromagnetic materials, making ErMn6Sn6 a promising candidate for advancing thermoelectric devices based on

Extraction of Phenolic Compounds from Tabernaemontana catharinensis Leaves and Their Effect on Oxidative Stress Markers in Diabetic Rats

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
The aim of this study was to evaluate the most effective extraction condition (temperature, solvent type and time) for recovery of high-value phytochemicals present in the Tabernaemontana catharinensis leaves (TC) and to assess their effect on ...

Development of a Novel, All‐Aromatic High Tensile Modulus Liquid Crystalline Polyimide for Fused Filament Fabrication Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel, high tensile modulus, fully aromatic thermotropic liquid crystalline polyimide (LCPI) with better solvent resistance and thermal stability is synthesized. Tensile specimens are fabricated using both injection molding and FFF processes, accomplished via lower viscosity enabled by the LC phase.

The possibility of Z(4430) resonance structure description in $πψ'$ reaction [PDF]

open access: yesJETP Lett.89:390-392,2009, 2009
The possible description of Z(4430) as a pseudoresonance structure in $\pi \psi'$ reaction, is considered. The analysis is performed with single-scattering contribution to $\pi \psi'$ elastic scattering via $D^*D_1(2420)$ intermediate energy.

Relating visual and semantic image descriptors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper addresses the automatic analysis of visual content and extraction of metadata beyond pure visual descriptors. Two approaches are described: Automatic Image Annotation (AIA) and Confidence Clustering (CC). AIA attempts to automatically classify

A posteriori teleportation ? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Braunstein and Kimble observe correctly that, in the Innsbruck experiment, Nature 390, 575 (1997), one does not always observe a teleported photon conditioned on a coincidence recording at the Bell-state analyser.

Effects of Chemical Pressure on Superconductivity in Electrochemically Intercalated (TMA)yFe2(Se1−xSx)2 (TMA = Tetramethylammonium)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intercalation of a series of FeSe1−xSx host crystals with tetramethylammonium cations (TMA+) linearly scales the critical temperature Tc from 43 K down to 28 K with increasing sulfur incorporation. The chemical pressure induced by the partial substitution shows a weakening of the superconducting properties in both hosts and intercalates in a remarkably
