Superluminal variations in 3C 120, 3C 273, and 3C 345

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1979
The superluminal behavior of 3C 120, 3C 273, and 3C 345 has been reexamined in light of new hybrid maps of these objects. The maps of 3C 273 and 3C 345 are consistent with superluminal expansion. 3C 120 appeared to expand superluminally from 1972.6 to 1974.5, but the evidence has been inconclusive since 1974.5.

Spatially resolved spectra of 3C galaxy nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We present and discuss visible-wavelength long-slit spectra of four low redshift 3C galaxies obtained with the STIS instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope. The slit was aligned with near-nuclear jet-like structure seen in HST images of the galaxies, to

Spectrophotometry of 3C 232 and 3C 249.1 [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1986
We find indication of variability of the ratio Mg II 2934/2798 for 3C 232 and discuss the excitation mechanism of Mg II 2934. For 3C 249.1 we identified the following new lines: [Ne V] 3346, [Ne V) 3426 and He I 3884. Comments are made on continuum shapes; in both cases optical continuum variability is confirmed.

Feline infectious peritonitis: role of the feline coronavirus 3c gene in intestinal tropism and pathogenicity based upon isolates from resident and adopted shelter cats. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV) was presumed to arise from mutations in the 3c of a ubiquitous and largely nonpathogenic feline enteric coronavirus (FECV).

Multifrequency Observations of the Virgo Blazars 3C 273 and 3C 279 in CGRO Cycle 8 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We report first observational results of multifrequency campaigns on the prominent Virgo blazars 3C 273 and 3C 279 which were carried out in January and February 1999. Both blazars are detected from radio to gamma-ray energies. We present the measured X-

A Spectral Analysis of 3C 67 and 3C 190 [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1998
AbstractUsing new high resolution VLA and VLBA data and existing MERLIN data of 3C 67 and 3C 190, we find both sources have a complex spectral structure similar to larger Fanaroff-Riley type II sources. Our analysis of 3C 190 predicts either an unusually steep injection index of −0.8 and a young age, or a superposition of different age spectral ...

Direct Activation of STING in the Tumor Microenvironment Leads to Potent and Systemic Tumor Regression and Immunity

open access: yesCell Reports, 2015
Spontaneous tumor-initiated T cell priming is dependent on IFN-β production by tumor-resident dendritic cells. On the basis of recent observations indicating that IFN-β expression was dependent upon activation of the host STING pathway, we hypothesized ...

Magnetotactic Bacteria and Magnetosomes as Smart Drug Delivery Systems: A New Weapon on the Battlefield with Cancer?

open access: yesBiology, 2020
An important direction of research in increasing the effectiveness of cancer therapies is the design of effective drug distribution systems in the body. The development of the new strategies is primarily aimed at improving the stability of the drug after
