Design Tools for 3D Mixed Mode Placement

2005 6th International Conference on ASIC, 2006
We present a set of design tools for three dimensional (3D) mixed mode placement (MMP). The hierarchical 3D MMP design tool is composed of a hierarchical clustering package, a new 3D floorplanning tool, route planning tool, and 2D global/detailed placement tools. We have analyzed the performance of 3D circuit using these tools.

A 3D mixed-mode ESD protection circuit simulation-design methodology

Proceedings of the IEEE 2004 Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37571), 2004
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a serious IC reliability problem. On-chip ESD protection is used to protect ICs against ESD damage. This paper presents a real 3D mixed-mode ESD protection circuit simulation-design methodology for ESD design prediction. Practical ESD protection design examples in 0.35 /spl mu/m BiCMOS are given.

The effects of thickness and Poisson’s ratio on 3D mixed-mode fracture

Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 2013
Abstract The effects of specimen thickness and Poisson’s ratio are investigated on mixed mode fracture parameters of a test sample using numerical analyses. A large number of three dimensional finite element models of semicircular bend specimen containing an inclined edge crack are analyzed to compute mixed mode fracture parameters (i.e.

Transient response exploration of SRAM cell metastable states caused by ionizing radiation with 3D mixed mode simulation

2014 21st IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS), 2014
This paper reports on the simulation and experimental results examining the interaction between mismatch and soft-errors in SRAM cells. Multiple bit upsets (MBU) due to ion irradiation are measured and show a significant probability of not upsetting otherwise identical cells, including the stored state.

Efficient Analysis of 3D Mixed-Mode Cracks of a Pressure Vessel Based on Schwartz-Neuman Alternating Method

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2016
The Schwartz-Neuman alternating method is employed to analyze 3D cracks in structural components with complicated geometries. The SIFs of Mode I, II and III for the mixed-mode cracks under complicated stress state are obtained from the alternating computing scheme between finite element method solution for the uncracked body and the symmetric Galerkin ...
