Oldest well‐preserved euprimate petrosal, from the early Eocene of India (Vastan Lignite Mine, Gujarat)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract An exquisitely preserved, isolated partial petrosal with associated fragmentary stapes is described from the Vastan Lignite Mine (Gujarat, India), dated to the early Eocene (~54.5 Ma). Several anatomical traits (e.g., large petrosal plate; posterolateral entry of the internal carotid artery to the tympanic cavity; bony tubes surrounding the ...

Clade‐wide morphological and functional variation of the sauropsid columella

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The columella (=stapes) is the middle ear bone of reptiles that transmits vibrations from the environment to the inner ear. It has been shown to exhibit extensive interspecific morphological disparity in several clades; however, its morphological variation and associated functional consequences remain poorly described.

Exploring the cranial morphology and possible convergences of Triassic non‐crocodylomorph pseudosuchians (Archosauria: Pseudosuchia) with other sauropsids through linear morphometrics

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Triassic pseudosuchians had highly diversified cranial morphologies. These archosaurs occupied diverse ecological roles, ranging from terrestrial predators and herbivores to semiaquatic ambush predators and possible waders. Here, we apply linear cranial morphometrics to assess possible convergences with other sauropsids from the clades ...

Construction of 3D geological models in glacial deposits to characterise migration of pollution

open access: yes, 2006
The National geological database at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) is based on an extensive well database Jupiter, a geophysical database Gerda (Tulstrup 2003) and a recently established database for various types of geological ...

Description of large, well‐preserved Enchodus specimens from the Bearpaw Formation of Alberta, Canada

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Fishes of the genus Enchodus were abundant and cosmopolitan in the Late Cretaceous, but are primarily known from isolated remains in Canada. Four well‐preserved fish skulls were recovered in recent years from ammolite mines sampling the Bearpaw Formation of Southern Alberta, and are here referred to Enchodus petrosus Cope, 1874.

Different methods of Turonian hydrocarbon deposits shielding in case of fluid contacts clarification

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Нефть и газ
The fluid model of a field frequently becomes more complex during the exploration improvement. When developing a 3D model, it is necessary to take into account all available geological information without losing the quality and speed of model update ...

Coherence‐Gated Wrapped‐Phase InSAR With Matrix‐Based Uncertainty Diagnostics for Burial‐Mound Hotspot Ranking (Sicily, Italy)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Burial mounds are key elements of Mediterranean funerary landscapes, but in intensively cultivated coastal plains their low‐relief expression is easily obscured by ploughing, levelling and rapidly changing surface conditions, making single‐date observations unreliable.

3D-CWC: A Method to Evaluate the Geological Suitability for Layered Development and Utilization of Urban Underground Space

open access: yesLand
Assessing the geological suitability of urban underground space development is crucial for mitigating geological risks. Traditional 2D evaluation methods fail to capture complex vertical variations in underground space, hindering precise planning.

Challenges and Opportunities in Multi‐Method Integrated Geophysical Prospection of Buried Building Remains at the Sanctuary of Olympia

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ancient Olympia was one of the most important sanctuaries and the venue for the Olympic Games in Greek and Roman times. Its remains are located in the Olympia Terrace (Peloponnese, Greece) at the present‐day confluence of the rivers Alpheios and Kladeos at the base of Mount Kronos.

3D geological fine modeling and dynamic updating method of fault slope in open-pit coal mine

open access: yesScientific Reports
Combining the requirements for refined modeling and dynamic update of fault slope geological models in open-pit coal mines, we systematically elaborated on the elements and rules of slope 3D geological modeling and proposed a fine modeling and dynamic ...
