The Lightfield Microscope Eyepiece

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Lightfield microscopy has raised growing interest in the last few years. Its ability to get three-dimensional information about the sample in a single shot makes it suitable for many applications in which time resolution is fundamental.

3D Quantum Ghost Imaging

open access: yesApplied Optics, 2023
We present current results of a novel type of setup for quantum ghost imaging based on asynchronous single-photon timing using SPAD detectors, first presented in [1]. The scheme enables photon pairing without fixed delays and thus overcomes some limitations of the widely used heralded setups for quantum ghost imaging [2].

Machine Learning-Based View Synthesis in Fourier Lightfield Microscopy

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Current interest in Fourier lightfield microscopy is increasing, due to its ability to acquire 3D images of thick dynamic samples. This technique is based on simultaneously capturing, in a single shot, and with a monocular setup, a number of orthographic

Performance evaluation of dual-layer architectures for high dynamic range head mounted displays

open access: yesJournal of Information Display, 2023
A high dynamic range head mounted display (HDR-HMD) using a dual-layer per-pixel modulation method was recently demonstrated where both the display and modulation layers spatially overlap with an equal pixel resolution and are well-aligned to each other ...

Towards quantum 3D imaging devices [PDF]

open access: yesPhotonics for Quantum, 2021
We review the advancement of the research toward the design and implementation of quantum plenoptic cameras, radically novel 3D imaging devices that exploit both momentum–position entanglement and photon–number correlations to provide the typical refocusing and ultra-fast, scanning-free, 3D imaging capability of plenoptic devices, along with ...

CONSERVATION MONITORING OF A HERITAGE CEILING BY PHOTOMETRIC STEREO [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2012
Photographic survey techniques were employed to monitor the condition of the paintwork on the ceiling of the Queen's Staircase at Hampton Court Palace. Illumination was provided by a flash, mounted on an 8 metre telescopic mast, raised to approximately ...
