Tool wear monitoring method based on AMIDBOAB and imbalanced data optimization

open access: yesAIP Advances
Development of precise models for monitoring tool wear faces challenges due to imbalance of experimental data. To address the issues of data imbalance and low monitoring accuracy in various tool wear stages of CNC machine tools, an AMIDBOAB tool wear ...

Controlling Form Errors From 3D Measures

open access: yesVolume 1: 25th Design Automation Conference, 1999
Abstract Owing to the fact that a correct evaluation of form errors is particularly difficult by the classical ways, it seems more efficient to develop numerical algorithms from 3D measures. Several methods are described, including direct and iterative ones. A new method is proposed, which is based on Lp-norms and a specialized algorithm.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Monitoring correlates of SARS-CoV-2 infection in cell culture using a two-photon-active calcium-sensitive dye

open access: yesCellular & Molecular Biology Letters
Background The organism-wide effects of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) viral infection are well studied, but little is known about the dynamics of how the infection spreads in time among or within cells due to the scarcity ...

Direct strain and slope measurement using 3D DSPSI [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This communication presents a new implementation of DSPSI. Its main features are 1. an advanced model taking into account the beam divergence, 2. the coupling with a surface shape measurement in order to generalize DSPSI to nonplanar surfaces 3.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Efficient measurement of power tower based on tilt photography with unmanned aerial vehicle and laser scanning

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2021
A 3D laser scanning system can achieve the precision of millimetre level in deformation examination of a power line tower; however, it suffers from the high cost of equipment and difficult onsite installation.

Optimizing Scan Homogeneity for Building Full-3D Lidars based on Rotating a Multi-Beam Velodyne Rangefinder [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Multi-beam lidar (MBL) scanners are compact, light, and accessible 3D sensors with high data rates, but they offer limited vertical resolution and field of view (FOV). Some recent robotics research has profited from the addition of a degree-of-freedom
