Nuclei‐Specific Amygdala Enlargement Is Linked to Psychiatric Comorbidities in Drug‐Resistant Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amygdala enlargement has been the subject of controversial studies regarding its significance in terms of pathogenicity both in epilepsy and in psychiatric comorbidities such as anxiety, depression, and post‐traumatic stress disorder.

In between 3D Active Appearance Models and 3D Morphable Models

2009 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops, 2009
In this paper we propose a novel method of generating 3D morphable models (3DMMs) from 2D images. We develop algorithms of 3D face reconstruction from a sparse set of points acquired from 2D images. In order to establish correspondence between images precisely, we combined active shape models (ASMs) and active appearance models (AAMs)(CASAAMs) in an ...

3D modeling with a symmetric sketch

Proceedings of the Eighth Eurographics Symposium on Sketch-Based Interfaces and Modeling, 2011
We propose a method that allows geometric operations such as view change, deformation, simulation, or symmetrization on a single off-line sketch via a proxy geometry reconstructed directly from the sketch. The reconstruction captures the overall shape of the object depicted by making use of the global relationships of the curves and the assumption that

3D and 2D/3D holograms model

Optical Memory and Neural Networks, 2012
The estimating problem of 3D holograms orientation selectivity on angular, orthogonal, and azimuthal sensitivity parameters is formulated and solved. Tenfold increase of density 3D, 2D/3D holograms in comparison with 2D holograms at given selectivity for ones is shown in theory and experimentally.

On-chip inductance models: 3D or not 3D?

Proceedings 2002 Design, Automation and Test in Europe Conference and Exhibition, 2003
Full 3D lumped partial inductance models usually contain a tremendous amount of forward coupling terms. To reduce the complexity of simulation and analysis, a simplified model that excludes the forward coupling terms is often adopted in practice. This paper addresses the question whether ignoring forward couplings is always an acceptable choice or if ...

Slicing a 3D Model

2014
This chapter and the next are the core of this book’s explanation of the 3D printing process. 3D printers cannot use a computer model until that model is changed into commands to move around an extruder and control when that extruder is and isn’t putting down material.
