3D Printed PCB Microfluidics

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
The combination of printed circuit boards (PCB) and microfluidics has many advantages. The combination of electrodes, sensors and electronics is needed for almost all microfluidic systems. Using PCBs as a substrate, this integration is intrinsic. Additive manufacturing has become a widely used technique in industry, research and by hobbyists.

Static and Dynamic Behavior of Novel Y‐Shaped Sandwich Beams Subjected to Compressive Loadings: Integration of Supervised Learning and Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the mechanical response of Y‐shaped core sandwich beams under compressive loading is investigated, using deep feed‐forward neural networks (DFNNs) for predictive modeling. The DFNN model accurately captures stress–strain behavior, influenced by design parameters and loading rates.

A dual-crosslinking electroactive hydrogel based on gelatin methacrylate and dibenzaldehyde-terminated telechelic polyethylene glycol for 3D bio-printing

open access: yesScientific Reports
Gelatin was widely used as scaffold materials in 3D bio-printing due to its excellent bioactivity and availability and especially that their arginine–glycine–aspartic acid (RGD) sequences could efficiently promote cell adhesion and proliferation. In this

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Prosthetist Knowledge and 3D Printing [PDF]

open access: yesCan Prosthet Orthot J
In this paper we briefly explored the history of 3D printing in prosthetics. We provided details of our own work developing 3D printing design tools from 2014-2020 noting how claims around prosthetist experience and knowledge have been supported and/or questioned in the development of new device production techniques.

Accelerating 3D printing for surface wettability research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The wettability of a surface is affected by its physical and chemical properties, but it can be modulated by patterning it. Researchers use many different techniques for surface patterning, each one with different trade-offs in terms of cost, flexibility,
