3D reconstruction of indoor environments

Proceedings of 3rd IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2002
This paper presents a new 3D scene analysis system that automatically reconstructs the 3D model of real-world scenes from multiple range images acquired by a laser range finder on board of a mobile robot. The reconstruction is achieved through an integrated procedure including range data acquisition, geometrical feature extraction, planning the next ...

An autonomous sensor for 3D reconstruction

1998
We describe an automated approach to the reconstruction of 3D interiors from laser range data and digital images. This is achieved using a scanning laser rangefinder and digital camera that are mounted on an autonomous mobile platform known as the AEST.

Unconstrained 3D face reconstruction

2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2015
This paper presents an algorithm for unconstrained 3D face reconstruction. The input to our algorithm is an “unconstrained” collection of face images captured under a diverse variation of poses, expressions, and illuminations, without meta data about cameras or timing.

Unsupervised 3D Reconstruction Networks

2019 IEEE/CVF International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV), 2019
In this paper, we propose 3D unsupervised reconstruction networks (3D-URN), which reconstruct the 3D structures of instances in a given object category from their 2D feature points under an orthographic camera model. 3D-URN consists of a 3D shape reconstructor and a rotation estimator, which are trained in a fully-unsupervised manner incorporating the ...

Semantic 3D Reconstruction of Heads

2016
We present a novel approach that jointly reconstructs the geometry of a human head and semantically segments it into labels such as skin, hair and eyebrows. In order to get faithful reconstructions from data captured in uncontrolled environments, we propose to adapt a recently introduced implicit volumetric surface normal based shape prior formulation.

Crowdsourcing 3D Motion Reconstruction

2014
Reconstructing 3D motions from 2D video recordings is a useful yet difficult task. In this paper, we present a crowdsourcing system for motion reconstruction. Our insight is that we may outsource motion reconstruction to indefinite users online by allowing the users to contribute their motions with popular motion sensors shipped with game consoles (e.g.

SURFACE RECONSTRUCTION OF 3D OBJECTS

2006
A priority driven based algorithm for surface reconstruction from a set of surface points is presented. It calculates the shape change at the boundary of mesh area and builds a priority queue for the advance front of mesh area according to the changes. Then, the mesh growing process is forced to propagate in reliable direction through the queue.
