Sliding Adjustment for 3D Video Representation [PDF]

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2002
Summary: This paper deals with video coding of static scenes viewed by a moving camera. We propose an automatic way to encode such video sequences using several 3D models. Contrary to prior art in model-based coding where 3D models have to be known, the 3D models are automatically computed from the original video sequence.

Tracking People with 3D Representations

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
We present a novel approach for tracking multiple people in video. Unlike past approaches which employ 2D representations, we focus on using 3D representations of people, located in three-dimensional space. To this end, we develop a method, Human Mesh and Appearance Recovery (HMAR) which in addition to extracting the 3D geometry of the person as a SMPL

Contact Representations of Graphs in 3D [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study contact representations of graphs in which vertices are represented by axis-aligned polyhedra in 3D and edges are realized by non-zero area common boundaries between corresponding polyhedra. We show that for every 3-connected planar graph, there exists a simultaneous representation of the graph and its dual with 3D boxes. We give a linear-time

ROBUST REPRESENTATION OF 3D FACES FOR RECOGNITION [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 2006
Automatic face recognition is becoming increasingly important due to the security applications derived from it. Although the facial recognition problem has focused on 2D images, recently, due to the proliferation of 3D scanning hardware, 3D face recognition has become a feasible application. This 3D approach does not need any color information.

3D maps representation using GNG [PDF]

open access: yes2014 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), 2014
Current RGB‐D sensors provide a big amount of valuable information for mobile robotics tasks like 3D map reconstruction, but the storage and processing of the incremental data provided by the different sensors through time quickly become unmanageable.

On String Contact Representations in 3D

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
An axis-aligned string is a simple polygonal path, where each line segment is parallel to an axis in $\mathbb{R}^3$. Given a graph $G$, a string contact representation $Ψ$ of $G$ maps the vertices of $G$ to interior disjoint axis-aligned strings, where no three strings meet at a point, and two strings share a common point if and only if their ...

3D-dynamic representation of DNA sequences [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Modeling, 2014
A new 3D graphical representation of DNA sequences is introduced. This representation is called 3D-dynamic representation. It is a generalization of the 2D-dynamic dynamic representation. The sequences are represented by sets of "material points" in the 3D space. The resulting 3D-dynamic graphs are treated as rigid bodies.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.
