Bio‐inspired vision: From principle, material architectures to system‐level integration

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
This review introduces the development and mechanism of electronic and ionic bio‐inspired vision devices respectively. Then, it explores the impact of structure on bio‐inspired visual performance from the scale of intrinsic materials and device. Finally, it concludes that only by combining advanced software and technology can more complex vision ...

FROSS: Faster-than-Real-Time Online 3D Semantic Scene Graph Generation from RGB-D Images [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Conference on Computer Vision
The ability to abstract complex 3D environments into simplified and structured representations is crucial across various domains. 3D semantic scene graphs (SSGs) achieve this by representing objects as nodes and their interrelationships as edges ...

COL1A1+ Epithelial Cells Orchestrate VEGFA‐VEGFR Signaling in Endometritis Revealed by Single‐Cell Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA‐seq of normal and endometritis endometrium shows reduced epithelial cells and fate divergence toward ferroptosis or ribosome/antigen‐presentation programs. COL1A1+ epithelial cells act as an AP‐1–driven hub that enhances VEGFA–VEGFR signaling and remodels the vascular microenvironment.

Looking at Soil as It Is: Evolution of Microscopic Soil Characterization From Kubiëna to Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
We provide a historic overview of microscopic soil structure characterization from its founding father, Walter Kubiëna, to several technical revolutions like automation, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. In addition to technical advancements, we explore how concepts and research questions have evolved in time.

Emotion and Engagement Across the Idol Spectrum: Comparing Virtual and Human Idols

open access: yesPsychology &Marketing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasing adoption of virtual idols in entertainment platforms raises critical questions about how viewers respond to their emotional performances compared to human idols. Despite their growing presence, little is known about whether and how emotional expressivity differs across performer modalities and content formats, or how these ...

Structured Interfaces for Automated Reasoning with 3D Scene Graphs

open access: yesCoRR
In order to provide a robot with the ability to understand and react to a user's natural language inputs, the natural language must be connected to the robot's underlying representations of the world. Recently, large language models (LLMs) and 3D scene graphs (3DSGs) have become a popular choice for grounding natural language and representing the world.

Deep Reinforcement Learning Based Autonomous Decision‐Making for Cooperative Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles: A Search and Rescue Real World Application

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper presents the first end‐to‐end framework that combines guidance, navigation, and centralized task allocation for multiple UAVs performing autonomous search‐and‐rescue (SAR) in GNSS‐denied indoor environments. A twin delayed deep deterministic policy gradient controller is trained with an artificial potential field (APF) reward that ...

3D Reconstruction With Spherical Cameras

open access: yesIEEE Access
The goal of image-based 3D reconstruction is to establish a high-quality 3D expression from images. In order to achieve a high-resolution and real-time 3D model, inspired by the open source COLMAP, we propose a novel framework (3DMAP) to reconstruct 3D ...
