A flexible similarity measure for 3D shapes recognition

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2004
This paper is devoted to presenting a new strategy for 3D objects recognition using a flexible similarity measure based on the recent Modeling Wave (MW) topology in spherical models. MW topology allows us to establish an n-connectivity relationship in 3D objects modeling meshes.

3D shape reconstruction from 2D ISAR measurements

2012 International Conference on Wavelet Active Media Technology and Information Processing (ICWAMTIP), 2012
At present, most of 3D reconstruction algorithms only use the range history of scatters for ISAR frame. The reconstruction algorithm that utilizes both range and cross range data is proposed to replace of the method using only the range, which improves the reconstruction accuracy and decreases the least image quantity for the successful reconstruction.

Shape quality measurement for 3D watermarking schemes

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
Shape quality assessment is a new challenge for a wide set of 3-D graphics applications and particularly for emerging 3-D watermarking schemes. In order to measure distortions new metrics have to be drawn between an original 3-D surface and its deformed version.

3D shape measurement with defect detection

SPIE Proceedings, 2017
In this study, we discuss a method to reconstruct a whole shape of an object for the digital archive. Here, we propose an integration method of partial object shapes measured from different viewpoints. The shape data after the integration are often incomplete because which includes defects such as holes or chips.

3D shape measurement based on computer vision

Proceedings. International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics, 2003
The fast, non-contact and highly precise shape measurement of objects is a key importance in the scientific-technological area as well as the area of practical measurement technology. A approach is proposed to determines the world coordinates of markers that are attached to the large-scale object measured, which is based on computer vision.

Optical 3D shape measurement for vibrating drumhead

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
In this paper, a whole-field and high-speed optical three-dimensional (3D) shape measurement for the vibration pattern of a drumhead based on Fourier Transform Profilometry (FTP) is presented and verified by experiment. A projected sinusoidal fringe pattern on the surface of measured drumhead is dynamically deformed with the vibration of the membrane ...

3D measurement technique for convex shape acquisition

2007 IEEE/ASME international conference on advanced intelligent mechatronics, 2007
The shape of the objects is an important property, which can be used by many applications. There are simple shapes, which can be acquired by the most of the 3D measurement devices. There are very complex surfaces, as well, which acquisition can be performed only by a small subset of the recently used techniques.

Uniaxial 3D shape measurement with projector defocusing

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
Our recent study showed that the phase error caused by improperly defocused binary structured patterns has a unique relationship with the depth z. Based on this finding, the depth information can be extracted without the need of triangulation. Because the measurement can be performed from the same viewing angle, this uniaxial measurement technique ...

Scanning fringe projection for 3D shape measurements

SPIE Proceedings, 2016
A scanning fringe projection technique is presented to retrieve the 3D shape of an object with large depth discontinuities. Shadowing caused by tilted fringe projection can be eliminated. With a reliable image processing algorithm, noises and errors for surfaces on the edge area are efficiently detected and reduced.
