Improving 3D shape generation by shape space refinement and details recovery

2022
In this work we discuss two novel perspectives to improve 3D shape generation. The first perspective is to improve the local rigidity of the shape space in shape generation from a latent vector, while the second perspective is to use patch copy to do details recovery in shape completion.

Enhanced 3D Shape Recovery Using the Neural-Based Hybrid Reflectance Model

Neural Computation, 2001
It is known that most real surfaces usually are neither perfectly Lambertian model nor ideally specular model; rather, they are formed by the hybrid structure of these two models. This hybrid reflectance model still suffers from the noise, strong specular, and unknown reflectivity conditions. In this article, these limitations are addressed, and a new

Shape from shading-based 3D face shape recovery from single 2D image

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
3D depth information of a face, which does not vary under different exterior conditions, provides an excellent clue tocurrent face recognition (FR) research. Among techniques of3D shape recovery, shape from shading (SFS) method whichcan recover from single 2D image is most popular.

Linear Unmixing in BRDF Reproduction and 3D Shape Recovery

2014 22nd International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2014
Linear unmixing is a widely known and frequently applied technique in remote sensing, with the purpose of identifying the combination of materials that compose the multispectral reflection of a measured pixel. In this paper, we apply the same concept to surface reflectance modeling by estimating a reflectance under arbitrary conditions based on a ...

A Surface Deformation Framework for 3D Shape Recovery

2006
We present a surface deformation framework for the problem of 3D shape recovery. A spatially smooth and topologically plausible surface mesh representation is constructed via a surface evolution based technique, starting from an initial model. The initial mesh, representing the bounding surface, is refined or simplified where necessary during surface ...

3D Shape Recovery with Registration Assisted Stereo Matching

2007
A novel method for simultaneously acquiring and registering range data of a real object from different viewpoints is presented. Currently, most 3D model reconstruction techniques do not cooperate with the existing range data for shape recovery of future viewpoints. In this work, a stereo vision system is developed for 3D model acquisition.

3D shape recovery from image focus using Gabor features

Tenth International Conference on Machine Vision (ICMV 2017), 2018
Recovering an accurate and precise depth map from a set of acquired 2-D image dataset of the target object each having different focus information is an ultimate goal of 3-D shape recovery. Focus measure algorithm plays an important role in this architecture as it converts the corresponding color value information into focus information which will be ...

Flexible flow for 3D nonrigid tracking and shape recovery

Proceedings of the 2001 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition. CVPR 2001, 2005
We introduce linear methods for model-based tracking of nonrigid 3D objects and for acquiring such models from video. 3D motions and flexions are calculated directly from image intensities without information-lossy intermediate results. Measurement uncertainty is quantified and fully propagated through the inverse model to yield posterior mean (PM) and/

Shape Recovery Kinetics in Vascularized 3D‐Printed Polymeric Actuators

Advanced Engineering Materials, 2015
Rapid actuation of thermo‐responsive polymers is desirable for many applications including soft robotics and medical devices. Shape recovery rates in thermo‐responsive shape memory polymers (SMP) are governed by extrinsic diffusion length scales and intrinsic material properties including the thermal conductivity of bulk polymers and the nature of the ...

Two Cameras Vision Model for the 3D Shape Recovery

2009 Fifth International Conference on Natural Computation, 2009
One camera can get the image of the object, but it is difficult to get the precision three dimension shape of the object. Two cameras can get the precision dimension of the object just like human two eyes. The two camera vision model is built in this paper. The two cameras are placed to look common area.
