Biomimetic Iridescent Skin: Robust Prototissues Spontaneously Assembled from Photonic Protocells
Uniform nanoparticles are induced to form arrays (photonic crystals) in the cores of biopolymer capsules, endowing these ‘protocells’ with structural color. These protocells are then assembled into large self‐standing objects, i.e., prototissues, with robust mechanical properties as well as iridescent optical properties.

Efficient Parallel Inflated 3D Convolution Architecture for Action Recognition
Deep neural networks have received increasing attention in human action recognition. Previous research has established that utilizing 3D convolution is a reasonable approach to learn spatio-temporal representation. Nevertheless, constructing effective 3D

Markerless Motion Capture in the Crowd [PDF]
This work uses crowdsourcing to obtain motion capture data from video recordings. The data is obtained by information workers who click repeatedly to indicate body configurations in the frames of a video, resulting in a model of 2D structure over time ...

This study examines how pore shape and manufacturing‐induced deviations affect the mechanical properties of 3D‐printed lattice materials with constant porosity. Combining µ‐CT analysis, FEM, and compression testing, the authors show that structural imperfections reduce stiffness and strength, while bulk material inhomogeneities probably enhance ...

Motion Segmentation and Retrieval for 3D Video Based on Modified Shape Distribution
A similar motion search and retrieval system for 3D video are presented based on a modified shape distribution algorithm. 3D video is a sequence of 3D models made for a real-world object.

3D Motion Estimation and Compensation Method for Video-Based Point Cloud Compression
A point cloud visualizes information by placing a voxel with a color value and a position value in a three-dimensional space. Since a point cloud uses hundreds of thousands or millions of points to visualize information, a large number of bits is needed ...

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.

A QoS Aware Resource Allocation Strategy for 3D A/V Streaming in OFDMA Based Wireless Systems
Three-dimensional (3D) video is expected to be a “killer app” for OFDMA-based broadband wireless systems. The main limitation of 3D video streaming over a wireless system is the shortage of radio resources due to the large size of the 3D traffic.
