Virtual View Synthesis for 3DoF+ Video
2019 Picture Coding Symposium (PCS), 2019The paper reports a new view synthesis method for omnidirectional video with the ability to slightly displace a virtual viewpoint, i.e. the paper describes a novel synthesis method for 3DoF+ 360 video. This new method is noteworthy because of its high versatility and reliability: the method is appropriate for both perspective and omnidirectional input ...

Virtual camera scouting with 3DOF motion trackers
Proceedings of the 48th Annual Southeast Regional Conference, 2010The Screenplay Scout interface enables a filmmaker to scout camera placements and angles in a virtual 3D world using a lightweight and low-cost combination of a gamepad and a three-degree of freedom (3DOF) orientation sensor. He or she records the camera moves as the orientation sensor's real-time 3DOF data is mapped to the aim direction of the virtual

2013 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2013
In this paper, we describe a newly proposed design of an integrated three-degrees-of-freedom (3DoF) inner position sensor for an omnidirectional and holonomic inchworm mobile mechanism. The mechanism has two Y-shaped electromagnets and six piezoelectric actuators for obtaining 3DoF inchworm motion on well-polished ferromagnetic surfaces.

A single-beam 3DoF homodyne interferometer
Measurement Science and Technology, 2020Abstract In this paper, a camera-based 3DoF homodyne interferometer is proposed to measure displacements and rotations with precision below nanometre/microradian level. The interferometer uses a single beam, has a simple and compact layout and is easy to adjust. A spatial interference pattern is introduced by a tilted reference mirror

A planar 3DOF robotic exoskeleton for rehabilitation and assessment
2007 29th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2007A new robotic exoskeleton for the upper-limb has been designed and constructed. Its primary purpose is to act as a proof-of-concept prototype for a more sophisticated rehabilitation and assessment device that is currently in development. Simultaneously, it is intended to extend the capabilities of an existing planar exoskeleton device.

A 3DOF transtibial robotic prosthetic limb
7th International Conference on Information and Automation for Sustainability, 2014A robotic prosthesis is a device which is used to replace a missing body part. These devices are intended to return the amputees to their pre-amputation functional status. Below knee (Transtibial) amputation is the most common amputation occurred in the lower limb.

Aggressive Landing Maneuvers for 3DOF Helicopter UAV
AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference and Exhibit, 2006VTOL vehicle landing is considered to be a critically difficult task for both Land, Marine, and Urban operations. This paper describes one possible control approach to enable landing of unmanned systems at all attitudes, including against walls and ceilings, as a way to considerably enhance the operational capability of these vehicles.
