Ultrafast Thermal Shock Synthesis of CuNiSnLa Medium‐Entropy Metallic Glass for Sustainable Nitrogen Fixation via Plasma‐Coupled Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces an ultrafast thermal shock strategy to synthesize a CuNiSnLa medium‐entropy metallic glass (MEMG). The rapid heating and cooling process generates a robust, highly active catalyst for electrocatalytic nitrate reduction to ammonia (NRA).

Noise‐Limited Bit Precision in Ferroelectric Synaptic Transistors for High‐Resolution Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐frequency noise spectroscopy defines the resolvable conductance states of synaptic FeFETs by coupling read‐current fluctuation with usable dynamic range. The resulting noise‐limited bit precision establishes a universal, device‐agnostic reliability metric beyond the memory window, enabling quantitative benchmarking and rational design of high ...

Mechanisms of Degradation in Li‐Ion Batteries Under Low Temperature Exposures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐temperature exposures, or freeze‐thaw cycles, are observed to significantly accelerate the degradation of Li‐ion batteries. A combination of electrolyte phase separation and mechanochemical stress leads to reversible and irreversible performance losses.

Simple counterexamples to the 3G-inequality

open access: yesExpositiones Mathematicae, 2006
Let \(D\) be a domain in \({\mathbb R}^d\), \(d\geq 3\), and let \(G(x,y)\) be the classical Green function for \(D\). The \(3G\)-inequality states that there is a constant \(C>0\) such that for all \(x,y,z\in D\), \[ {G(x,z)G(z,y)\over G(x,y)}\leq C\left(| x-z| ^{2-d}+| z-y| ^{2-d}\right)\, .

Multifunctional Solid Polymer Electrolyte Films Integrating Intrinsic Self‐Healing and Dual Photo‐/pH‐Responsive Ionic Sensing for Intelligent Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multifunctional solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) films integrating intrinsic self‐healing, mechanical stretchability, and dual photo‐ and pH‐responsive ionic conductivity are developed. Constructed from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and hydrogen‐bonded poly(thiourea triethylene glycol) (PTUEG3), these films form a dynamic supramolecular network ...

Non‐targeted metabolomics for the identification of plasma metabolites associated with organic anion transporting polypeptide 1B1 function

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science
Our aim was to evaluate biomarkers for organic anion transporting polypeptide 1B1 (OATP1B1) function using a hypothesis‐free metabolomics approach. We analyzed fasting plasma samples from 356 healthy volunteers using non‐targeted metabolite profiling by ...

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

A risk-based multi-criteria maintenance planning of distribution feeders

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
This paper proposes a risk-based multi-criteria approach for maintenance planning of distribution feeders that uses Outage Management System (OMS) historical data to obtain a minimum-risk maintenance plan.

Atomically Dispersed Ni Site Catalysts Accelerating Sluggish Sulfur Redox Kinetics in Nonaqueous Zn‐S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomically dispersed Ni catalyst featuring Ni‐N4 coordination is developed as a sulfur host for nonaqueous Zn─S batteries. This configuration modulates the electronic structure to lower activation barriers during rate‐limiting steps and promotes a robust ZnF2‐rich cathode‐electrolyte interphase, thereby accelerating sulfur redox kinetics ...
