Steric protection of the Zn‐Carbene bond by a bridging coordination mode of 1,2‐dithiolate ligands leads to air‐ and moisture‐stable complexes. Efficient TADF with high radiative rate constants at room temperature is observed from 1/3LL/LMCT states according to variable temperature, transient absorption and DFT/MRCI studies.

Tandem conjugate addition–alkylation reaction of various amines with α‐bromo‐α, β‐unsaturated ketones resulted in near‐quantitative conversions into the corresponding aziridines when the reaction was carried out in the presence of 10 mol% of phase‐transfer, PT catalysts in water.

We derive machine learning‐based, multi‐gene expression signatures that can predict individual patient responses to specific tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs; sorafenib indicated). Curated genes whose expression is related to drug response in cancer cell lines are initially identified.

Energy Consumption Analysis of a Large Building at Memorial University
In this paper, energy consumption analysis and a process to identify appropriate models based on heat dynamics for large structures are presented. The analysis uses data from heating, ventilation, and air‐conditioning (HVAC) system sensors, as well as data from the indoor climate and energy software (IDA Indoor Climate and Energy (IDA‐ICE) 4.7 ...

AUV‐Based Plume Tracking: A Simulation Study
This paper presents a simulation study of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) navigation system operating in a GPS‐denied environment. The AUV navigation method makes use of underwater transponder positioning and requires only one transponder. A multirate unscented Kalman filter is used to determine the AUV orientation and position by fusing high ...

Decentralized Cooperative Localization Approach for Autonomous Multirobot Systems
This study proposes the use of a split covariance intersection algorithm (Split‐CI) for decentralized multirobot cooperative localization. In the proposed method, each robot maintains a local cubature Kalman filter to estimate its own pose in a predefined coordinate frame.

The growth of global population and economy continually increases the waste volumes and consequently creates challenges to handle and dispose solid wastes. It becomes more challenging in mixed rural‐urban areas (i.e., areas of mixed land use for rural and urban purposes) where both agricultural waste (e.g., manure) and municipal solid waste are ...

A high‐yielding, selective and scalable synthesis of (−)‐cannabidiol (CBD) has been developed via a straightforward Friedel‐Crafts reaction of olivetol mediated by FeCl3. The synthetic CBD was employed for its encapsulation in solid and hollow pH‐ and temperature‐sensitive nanoparticles, being evaluated their release, solubility, bioavailability and ...

Halogen Bonding in N‐Alkyl‐Bromo‐/Lodo‐Pyridinium Salts and its Application in Chromatography
Para‐ and meta‐halogenated pyridinium cations exhibit a high propensity for halogen bonding towards their anions, which we demonstrated by x‐ray crystallography and quantum‐chemical calculations. Due to the high stability of the meta‐halogenated derivatives against nucleophilic attack and even 0.1 M NaOH, the 3‐iodopyridinium moiety was grafted onto a ...
