PorA of the Type IX Secretion Is a Ligand of the PorXY Two‐Component Regulatory System in Porphyromonas gingivalis

Porphyromonas gingivalis exports several virulent proteins, including gingipain proteinases, via the type 9 secretion system. Expression of several T9SS component proteins is regulated by the PorA‐PorY‐PoX‐SigP signaling cascade. This study presents a novel role of PorA in the signaling cascade.

Discovery and In Vitro Reconstitution of Closoxazole Biosynthesis from Pyxidicoccus fallax

The myxobacterium Pyxidicoccus fallax is found to be a producer of benzoxazole‐containing natural products named closoxazoles. In vitro studies with the biosynthetic enzymes reveal new insights into the reaction mechanism for closoxazole formation.

The Factors of the Classification of Protein Amino Acids [PDF]

In this work it is shown that three pairs of the factors appear to be the key, i.e. main factors of a natural classification of protein (canonical) amino acids within the amino acid (genetic) code. First pair: the factors of the habit of an amino acid molecule (size and polarity).
