Abstract Neutron and γay angular distributions, and γ-ray polarisation correlations have been measured with the reaction 40 Ar (p, nγ) 40 K . Positive parity states have been established at 1.644 MeV (0+), 1.959 MeV (2+), 2.261 MeV (3+) and 2.290 MeV (1+).
