Symmetrized Chebyshev Polynomials [PDF]

We define a class of multivariate Laurent polynomials closely related to Chebyshev polynomials, and prove the simple but somewhat surprising (in view of the fact that the signs of the coefficients of the Chebyshev polynomials themselves alternate) result that their coefficients are non-negative.

Approximate Hermite quasi-interpolation [PDF]

In this paper we derive approximate quasi-interpolants when the values of a function $u$ and of some of its derivatives are prescribed at the points of a uniform grid. As a byproduct of these formulas we obtain very simple approximants which provide high order approximations for solutions to elliptic differential equations with constant coefficients.
