Background – Canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) is a common inflammatory and pruritic skin disease, with various treatment options. The use of topical products containing natural ingredients has proven increasingly popular. Objective – To evaluate the effects of a spray solution containing heat‐killed Lactobacillus rhamnosus and L. reuteri, on the clinical

On convergence and divergence of Fourier expansions with respect to some Gegenbauer-Sobolev type inner product [PDF]
11 pages, no figures.-- MSC2000 codes: 42C05, 42C10.In this paper we prove the failure of a.e. convergence of the Fourier expansion in terms of the orthonormal polynomials with respect to the above inner product [see full-text paper].

Maximal operators of Fejér means of Walsh‐Kaczmarz‐Fourier series
The main aim of this paper is to prove that there exists a martingale f∈ H1/2 such that the maximal Fejér operator with respect to Walsh‐Kaczmarz system does not belong to the space L1/2. For the two‐dimensional case, we prove that there exists a martingale f∈H12/□(f∈H12/) such that the restricted (unrestricted) maximal operator of Fejér means of two ...

On the denseness of Jacobi polynomials
Let X represent either a space C[−1, 1] or Lα,βp(w), 1 ≤ p < ∞, of functions on [−1, 1]. It is well known that X are Banach spaces under the sup and the p‐norms, respectively. We prove that there exist the best possible normalized Banach subspaces Xα,βk of X such that the system of Jacobi polynomials is densely spread on these, or, in other words, each

Modulus of smoothness and theorems concerning approximation on compact groups
We consider the generalized shift operator defined by (Shuf)(g) = ∫Gf(tut−1g)dt on a compact group G, and by using this operator, we define spherical modulus of smoothness. So, we prove Stechkin and Jackson‐type theorems.

On certain Heun functions, associated functions of discrete variables, and applications
Two sets of the Heun functions are introduced via integrals. Theorems about expanding functions with respect to these sets are proven. A number of integral and series representations as well as integral equations and asymptotic formulas are obtained for these functions.

Integrability and L1‐convergence of Rees‐Stanojević sums with generalized semiconvex coefficients
Integrability and L1‐convergence of modified cosine sums introduced by Rees and Stanojević (1973) under a class of generalized semiconvex null coefficients are studied, using Cesaro means of integral order.

Strict positive definiteness on spheres via disk polynomials
We characterize complex strictly positive definite functions on spheres in two cases, the unit sphere of ℂq, q ≥ 3, and the unit sphere of the complex ℓ2. The results depend upon the Fourier‐like expansion of the functions in terms of disk polynomials and, among other things, they enlarge the classes of strictly positive definite functions on real ...

Hardy‐Littlewood type inequalities for Laguerre series
Let {cj} be a null sequence of bounded variation. We give appreciate smoothness and growth conditions on {cj} to obtain the pointwise convergence as well as Lr‐convergence of Laguerre series ∑cj𝔏ja. Then, we prove a Hardy‐Littlewood type inequality ∫0∞|f(t)|rdt≤C∑j=0∞|cj|rj¯12−r/ for certain r ≤ 1, where f is the limit function of ∑cj𝔏ja.
