On Hahn-Banach theorem and some of its applications

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2022
First, this work provides an overview of some of the Hahn-Banach type theorems. Of note, some of these extension results for linear operators found recent applications to isotonicity of convex operators on a convex cone.

Enhancing parental reflective functioning through early dyadic interventions: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, Volume 42, Issue 1, Page 21-34, January/February 2021., 2021
ABSTRACT Parental reflective functioning (PRF) is an important predictor of infant attachment, and interventions that target parent–infant/toddler dyads who are experiencing significant problems have the potential to improve PRF. A range of dyadic interventions have been developed over the past two decades, some of which explicitly target PRF as part ...

On the Random Conjugate Spaces of a Random Locally Convex Module [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Theoretically speaking, there are four kinds of possibilities to define the random conjugate space of a random locally convex module. The purpose of this paper is to prove that among the four kinds there are only two which are universally suitable for ...

On the extension of linear operators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 28, Issue 10, Page 621-623, 2001., 2001
It is well known that the Hahn‐Banach theorem, that is, the extension theorem for bounded linear functionals, is not true in general for bounded linear operators. A characterization of spaces for which it is true was published by Kakutani in 1940. We summarize Kakutani′s work and we give an example which demonstrates that his characterization is not ...

On the extension of positive linear functionals

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 23, Issue 1, Page 31-35, 2000., 2000
A necessary and sufficient condition to extend a continuous linear real functionals which is positive with respect to a semi‐group defined on a subspace of a linear space is discussed in this paper. The case of a closed subspace of a Banach space is also discussed.

Support theorems in abstract settings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we establish a general framework in which the verification of support theorems for generalized convex functions acting between an algebraic structure and an ordered algebraic structure is still possible.

A characterization of positive normal functionals on the full operator algebra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Using the recent theory of Krein--von Neumann extensions for positive functionals we present several simple criteria to decide whether a given positive functional on the full operator algebra is normal.

Measuring risk with multiple eligible assets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The risk of financial positions is measured by the minimum amount of capital to raise and invest in eligible portfolios of traded assets in order to meet a prescribed acceptability constraint.

The Similarity Degree of Some C*-algebras

open access: yes, 2012
We define the class of weakly approximately divisible unital C*-algebras and show that this class is closed under direct sums, direct limits, any tensor product with any C*-algebra, and quotients. A nuclear C*-algebra is weakly approximately divisible if
