The Late Agricultural Development of Central Arabian Oases—Archaeobotanical and Archaeozoological Studies of the al‐Kharj Oasis

open access: yesArabian Archaeology and Epigraphy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While oasis settlements emerged during the Bronze Age in Eastern and Northern Arabia, the settlement process in Central Arabia was different. Excavations at al‐Yamāma—main ancient settlement of the al‐Kharj oasis (Riyadh Province, KSA)—suggest that the latter did not emerge before the second half of the first millennium BCE.

Influence of graphene and multi-walled carbon nanotube additives on tribological behaviour of lubricants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In the present study, the tribological performance of water-based emulsion (lubricant) was investigated by blending carbon fillers such as graphene nanoplatelets and multiwall carbon nanotubes using pin-on-disc tribometer. It was noticed that addition of

The Early Upper Palaeolithic open‐air site of Friedrichsdorf‐Seulberg, Germany, in the context of the northern central European Aurignacian

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Our knowledge of the Early Upper Palaeolithic occupation in northern central Europe is very limited, and recent research at the open‐air site of Friedrichsdorf‐Seulberg in Hesse, Germany, provides important new information on the Aurignacian. The site is rather small (26.5 m2) and spatial analysis identified a central hearth with two associated ...

Detecting Informed Trading Risk from Undercutting Activity

open access: yesThe Journal of Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We introduce a simple measure of informed trading risk, QIDres$QID^{res}$, the residual to liquidity quote‐improvement‐to‐deterioration ratio times −1$-1$. When facing with increased informed trading risk, liquidity providers compete less to provide liquidity, reducing their undercutting activity. Reductions in undercutting leave footprints in

The impact of public drop‐off boxes and autonomous delivery robots in last‐mile delivery

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 6, Page 3825-3854, November 2026.
Abstract The growing concern over emissions from last‐mile logistics is motivating the development of innovative delivery models aimed at reducing environmental impact and traffic congestion. To this end, we propose a last‐mile delivery scheme based on both public drop‐off boxes and autonomous delivery robots.

Lateromedial and oblique radiographs detect most fetlock pathologies as effectively as a full series in horses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 4, Page 934-945, July 2026.
Abstract Background Radiographic protocols for the metacarpo‐/tarsophalangeal joint during pre‐purchase examinations (PPE) vary internationally, but their impact on pathology detection remains unclear. Optimising imaging protocols is essential to balance diagnostic accuracy with workflow efficiency and radiation exposure.
