Iterative approximation of a solution of a general variational‐like inclusion in Banach spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 2004, Issue 22, Page 1159-1168, 2004., 2004
We introduce a class of η‐accretive mappings in a real Banach space and show that the η‐proximal point mapping for η‐m‐accretive mapping is Lipschitz continuous. Further, we develop an iterative algorithm for a class of general variational‐like inclusions involving η‐accretive mappings in real Banach space, and discuss its convergence criteria.

Fixed‐point theorems for multivalued non‐expansive mappings without uniform convexity

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2003, Issue 6, Page 375-386, 2003., 2003
Let X be a Banach space whose characteristic of noncompact convexity is less than 1 and satisfies the nonstrict Opial condition. Let C be a bounded closed convex subset of X, KC(C) the family of all compact convex subsets of C, and T a nonexpansive mapping from C into KC(C). We prove that T has a fixed point.

Fixed‐point and coincidence theorems for set‐valued maps with nonconvex or noncompact domains in topological vector spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2003, Issue 1, Page 1-18, 2003., 2003
A technique, based on the investigations of the images of maps, for obtaining fixed‐point and coincidence results in a new class of maps and domains is described. In particular, we show that the problem concerning the existence of fixed points of expansive set‐valued maps and inner set‐valued maps on not necessarily convex or compact sets in Hausdorff ...

On best proximity pair theorems and fixed‐point theorems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2003, Issue 1, Page 33-47, 2003., 2003
The significance of fixed‐point theory stems from the fact that it furnishes a unified approach and constitutes an important tool in solving equations which are not necessarily linear. On the other hand, if the fixed‐point equation Tx = x does not possess a solution, it is contemplated to resolve a problem of finding an element x such that x is in ...

On boundary value problems for degenerate differential inclusions in Banach spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2003, Issue 13, Page 769-784, 2003., 2003
We consider the applications of the theory of condensing set‐valued maps, the theory of set‐valued linear operators, and the topological degree theory of the existence of mild solutions for a class of degenerate differential inclusions in a reflexive Banach space.

On coincidence index for multivalued perturbations of nonlinear Fredholm maps and some applications

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 7, Issue 6, Page 295-322, 2002., 2002
We define a nonoriented coincidence index for a compact, fundamentally restrictible, and condensing multivalued perturbations of a map which is nonlinear Fredholm of nonnegative index on the set of coincidence points. As an application, we consider an optimal controllability problem for a system governed by a second‐order integro‐differential equation.

Variational‐like inequalities for pseudomonotone operators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 28, Issue 9, Page 549-555, 2001., 2001
The aim of this note is to use a fixed point theorem to prove results for variational‐like inequalities for pseudomonotone operators.

Vector‐valued fuzzy multifunctions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Stochastic Analysis, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 275-282, 2001., 2001
Some of the properties of vector‐valued fuzzy multifunctions are studied. The notion of sum fuzzy multifunction, convex hull fuzzy multifunction, close convex hull fuzzy multifunction, and upper demicontinuous are given, and some of the properties of these fuzzy multifunctions are investigated.

Fixed points and selections of set‐valued maps on spaces with convexity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 24, Issue 9, Page 595-612, 2000., 2000
We provide theorems extending both Kakutani and Browder fixed points theorems for multivalued maps on topological vector spaces, as well as some selection theorems. For this purpose we introduce convex structures more general than those of locally convex and non‐locally convex topological vector spaces or generalized convexity structures due to Michael,

Maximal elements and equilibria of generalized games for 𝒰‐majorized and condensing correspondences

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, Volume 22, Issue 1, Page 179-189, 1999., 1999
In this paper, we first give an existence theorem of maximal elements for a new type of preference correspondences which are 𝒰‐majorized. Then some existence theorems for compact (resp., non‐compact) qualitative games and generalized games in which the constraint or preference correspondences are 𝒰‐majorized (resp., Ψ‐condensing) are obtained in ...
