Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.Abstract Between 1920 and 1969, the number of Black farmers in the US decreased from 14% of all operators to 4%. Using Martin Luther King Jr.'s critique of agricultural policy and Willard Cochrane's theory of the technological treadmill, we explore how racial discrimination was linked to policies that led to structural change in US agriculture.

Risk Factors and Predictive Models for Sarcopenia in Older Adults
AGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.Independent risk factors for sarcopenia identified by Lasso regression and logistic regression in the study were BMI, prealbumin, albumin/globulin ratio (A/G ratio), serum creatinine, and phosphorus. AGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.This study found that 54% of elderly inpatients were prescribed at least one potentially inappropriate medication (PIM) based on the 2023 AGS Beers Criteria. Among identified PIMs, 32.2% were medications to avoid, and 52.8% required cautious use. Polypharmacy and chronic kidney disease (CKD) were key predictors of PIM use.
