Mathematics in the Realm of Lapatinib: 500 + 500 = 1,500?
Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2008Once upon a time (ie, several decades ago), breast cancer was a disease with a dismal outcome. However, we now witness long-term overall survival rates of 80% to 90% in women with early breast cancer in North America and Europe, although metastatic breast cancer remains incurable.

Museum visitors today can regularly view 500 year old art by Renaissance masters. Will visitors to museums 500 years in the future be able to see the work of digital artists from the early 21st century? This paper considers the real problem of conserving interactive digital artwork for museum installation in the far distant future by exploring the ...

This document describes the effort to implement the Graph 500 benchmark using OpenSHMEM based on the MPI-2 one-side version. The Graph 500 benchmark performs a breadth-first search in parallel on a large randomly generated undirected graph and can be implemented using basic MPI-1 and MPI-2 one-sided communication.

A study of 500 vaginal hysterectomies
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1946Abstract Reports emanating from various gynecologic clinics have proved that vaginal hysterectomy is an operation with a very low morbidity and mortality. In many large series ranging from 600 to 2,000 cases, the percentage of mortalities has varied from 0.0 per cent to 3.2 per cent; but the majority have been a fraction of 1 per cent.
