Co-encapsulation of an antigen and CpG oligonucleotides into PLGA microparticles by TROMS technology. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
It seems well established that CpG oligonucleotides Th1 biased adjuvant activity can be improved when closely associated with a variety of antigens in, for example, microparticles.

Synergistic Spin‐Polarization and Single‐Atom Engineering in Magnetic Heterojunctions for Efficient Solar Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput screening led to the identification of 67 Z‐scheme heterojunctions (comprising 2D magnetic transition metal halides and non‐magnetic transition metal chalcogenides). For CrI3/MoTe2 and CrI3/WTe2, electronic structure analysis demonstrated that synergistic crystallographic point group and built‐in electric field effects generate a ...

Complications after medullary thyroid carcinoma surgery: multicentre study of the SQRTPA and EUROCRINE® databases

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This study investigated postoperative complications after surgery for medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in Europe. Hypoparathyroidism, recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and bleeding requiring reoperation occurred in 170 (26·2 per cent), 62 (13·7 per cent) and 17 (2·6 per cent) patients respectively.

MiRNA‐501‐3p and MiRNA‐502‐3p: A promising biomarker panel for Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine
Introduction Alzheimer's disease (AD) lacks a less invasive and early detectable biomarker. Here, we investigated the biomarker potential of miR‐501‐3p and miR‐502‐3p using different AD sources.

Assessment of the Accuracy and Clinical Impact of the Preoperative Histopathology of Resected Early Gastric Cancers

open access: yesGastrointestinal Disorders
Background/Objectives: Superficial gastric neoplasms, including dysplasia and early adenocarcinoma, are increasingly managed by endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Preoperative assessment relies on endoscopic forceps biopsy (EFB), despite its limited

A Mixed-Methods Study of the Variables that Influence Southern Baptists’ Affirmation of the Inerrancy of the Bible [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) had discovered by the late 1970s that belief in the inerrancy of the Bible was not consistently affirmed by their leadership. After a twenty year battle, the SBC attempted to clarify the doctrine of inerrancy through

Environmental Stability and Electronic Properties of Individual Flakes of Ti2CTx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The paper presents a synthesis of large Ti2CTx MXene flakes with sizes reaching 40 µm and examines their environmental stability and electronic behavior. It demonstrates that monolayer flakes degrade rapidly in ambient conditions, leading to semiconducting‐like behavior with low conductivity and mobility. In contrast, multilayer flakes exhibit enhanced
