Z‐Scheme Water Splitting Systems Based on Solid‐State Electron Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the latest advances in Z‐scheme overall water splitting (OWS) systems for solar hydrogen production. These systems consist of suspended or immobilized hydrogen evolution photocatalysts (HEPs) and oxygen evolution photocatalysts (OEPs).

Bone Marrow-Derived Inducible Microglia-like Cells Promote Recovery of Chronic Ischemic Stroke Through Modulating Neuroinflammation in Mice

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: Chronic ischemic stroke presents a significant challenge in neurology, with limited therapeutic options available for long-term recovery. During cerebral infarction, anti-inflammatory phenotype microglia/macrophages produce anti-inflammatory ...

Fabrication of 5-20 nm thick β-W films

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2014
A technique to fabricate 5 to 20 nm thick sputter deposited β W films on SiO2 and Si substrates is presented. This is achieved by growing tungsten on a 5 nm SiO2 layer or in an oxygen controlled environment by flowing 2 sccm of O2 during deposition ...

Cooperative torus mode emission of O-ring lasers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Deformable ring lasers were fabricated by dispersing fluorescent dye (rhodamine 6G) in silicone rubber rings, i.e., the so-called O-rings. When excited with a pulsed green laser, an O-ring of 750 µm diameter exhibited a stimulated emission with a ...

MicroRNA-520/373 family functions as a tumor suppressor in estrogen receptor negative breast cancer by targeting NF-κB and TGF-β signaling pathways

open access: yesOncogene, 2012
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) as modulators of gene expression have been described to display both tumor-promoting and tumor-suppressive functions. Although their role has been studied in different tumor types, little is known about how they regulate nuclear factor

Defects in Inorganic Mechanoluminescent Phosphors: Insights and Impacts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanoluminescence is attracting more attention recently, and defect dominates mechanoluminescence performances. Investigating how defects work in the mechanoluminescence process is crucial for elucidating its complex luminescence mechanism. This review aims to emphasize the fundamental role of defects in mechanoluminescence, which offers an ...

Endovascular treatment for ureterorectal-arterial fistula and external iliac artery stenosis caused by recurrent endometrial cancer invasion: A case report

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
Owing to improvements in anticancer treatment, patients’ overall survival has been prolonged, and late complications occur more frequently than previously. We successfully managed a case of ureterorectal-arterial fistula (URAF) and external iliac artery (

Scalable Perovskite Quantum Dot Glass Nanocomposites for High‐Efficiency Luminescent Solar Concentrators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the scalability of PQD GNC‐based LSCs for BIPV applications. Experimental data and Monte Carlo simulations predict performance up to 1 m2, achieving a peak power conversion efficiency of 3.17%. The results confirm the viability of these LSCs for energy‐efficient building applications.
