Gated PN Junction in Ambipolar MoS2 for Superior Self‐Powered Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐quality gated pn junction based on ambipolar molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is demonstrated by employing a partial‐gate structure and a Pt bottom contact that forms a semi‐van der Waals interface, facilitating efficient hole injection into the channel.

Mechanisms of Anode Interfacial Phenomena and Multi‐perspective Optimization in Aqueous Alkaline Zinc‐Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc‐air batteries demonstrate great potential for sustainable energy storage but face major anode‐related challenges. This review provides a mechanism‐driven overview of zinc anode interfacial issues, e.g. dendrite formation, passivation, self‐corrosion, and hydrogen evolution; and explores advances in electrode, surface, and electrolyte engineering ...

Additive‐Driven Phase Control for Stable and Efficient CsPbI₃ Solar Cells Via Ambient Low‐Temperature Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
CsPbI₃ perovskite solar cells face stability issues due to high annealing temperatures and moisture. Butylammonium acetate (BAAc) enables stable phase formation at 160°C in ambient laboratory conditions, enhancing efficiency and stability, achieving 18.6% PCE, and maintaining over 81% efficiency after 1,000 hours of maximum power point tracking under 1

Unveiling Phonon Contributions to Thermal Conductivity and the Applicability of the Wiedemann—Franz Law in Ruthenium and Tungsten Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal transport in Ru and W thin films is studied using steady‐state thermoreflectance, ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopy, infrared‐visible spectroscopy, and computations. Significant Lorenz number deviations reveal strong phonon contributions, reaching 45% in Ru and 62% in W.

Lithium‐Ion/Lithium Metal Hybrid Batteries Enabled by Lithio‐Amphiphilic Bilayer Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lithium‐ion/Lithium metal hybrid batteries couple intercalation and plating mechanisms, yet are plagued by lithium dendrite formation. Here, a lithio‐amphiphilic bilayer comprising silver (Ag)/chromium(Cr) thin films is sequentially deposited on the graphite anode.

Intensities of high-energy cosmic rays at Mount Kanbala [PDF]

open access: yes
The energy spectra of atmospheric cosmic rays at Mt. Kanbala (520 g/sq cm.) are measured with emulsion chambers. The power indexes of the spectra are values of about 2.0 for both gamma-rays and hadrons.
