On Pervin′s example concerning the connected‐open topology
Irudayanathan and Naimpally [1] introduced a topology for function spaces (called the connected‐open topology) which has the property that the connected functions form a closed set provided that the codomain is completely normal. Pervin [2] gave an example showing that the proviso cannot be weakened to normality.

Singular perturbation for nonlinear boundary‐value problems
Asymptotic solutions of a class of nonlinear boundary‐value problems are studied. The problem is a model arising in nuclear energy distribution. For large values of the parameter, the differential equations are of the singular‐perturbation type and approximations are constructed by the method of matched asymptotic expansions.

A space (X, τ) is called epi-mildly normal if there exists a coarser topology τ′ on X such that (X, τ′) is Hausdorff (T2) mildly normal. We investigate this property and present some examples to illustrate the relationships between epi-mild normality and

Weak C-embedding and P -embedding, and product spaces [PDF]
Arhangel'skiȋ defines in [Topology Appl. 70 (1996) [Topology Appl. 93 (1999) 121-129]. Moreover, suggested by weak C-embedding, we define a notion of weak Pembedding, more precisely, weak P γ -embedding for an infinite cardinal γ , which is an ...

Criterion of Normality of the Completely Regular Topology of Separate Continuity [PDF]
2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 54C10, 54D15, 54G12.For given completely regular topological spaces X and Y, there is a completely regular space X ~⊗ Y such that for any completely regular space Z a mapping f : X × Y ⊗ Z is separately ...

Some relative properties on normality and paracompactness, and their absolute embeddings
Dedicated to Professor Takao Hoshina on his 60th birthday. Abstract. Paracompactness (= 2-paracompactness) and normality of a subspace Y in a space X defined by Arhangel'skii and Genedi [4] are fundamental in the study of relative topological ...

Separation Axioms via α^m-Kernel Set associated with α^m-Closed Set
In this paper, we introduce a new class of sets called -kernel set and study their basic properties in topological spaces.

Sobriety and Semi-Sobriety of L-Topological Spaces
This is a sequel to a paper "Fuzzy sobriety and fuzzy Hausdorff" which appeared in this journal vol. 20, 1997. The relationships between sobriety and fuzzy Hausdorff concepts are more subtle than was envisaged there and a concept of semi-sobriety ...
