A variation of the class of statistical γ covers

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2023
In this article, we introduce s-s-γ\gamma cover using the notion of star operator, which is an extension of the previous results on s-γ\gamma covers.

Algebraic entropy of endomorphisms of M-sets

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2021
The usual notion of algebraic entropy associates to every group (monoid) endomorphism a value estimating the chaos created by the self-map. In this paper, we study the extension of this notion to arbitrary sets endowed with monoid actions, providing ...

Localic completion of uniform spaces [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2017
We extend the notion of localic completion of generalised metric spaces by Steven Vickers to the setting of generalised uniform spaces. A generalised uniform space (gus) is a set X equipped with a family of generalised metrics on X, where a generalised ...

Uniform topology on EQ-algebras

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2017
In this paper, we use filters of an EQ-algebra E to induce a uniform structure (E, 𝓚), and then the part 𝓚 induce a uniform topology 𝒯 in E. We prove that the pair (E, 𝒯) is a topological EQ-algebra, and some properties of (E, 𝒯) are investigated.

Balanced and functionally balanced P-groups

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2018
In relation to Itzkowitz’s problem [5], we show that a c-bounded P-group is balanced if and only if it is functionally balanced. We prove that for an arbitrary P-group, being functionally balanced is equivalent to being strongly functionally balanced.

On a notion of entropy in coarse geometry

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2019
The notion of entropy appears in many branches of mathematics. In each setting (e.g., probability spaces, sets, topological spaces) entropy is a non-negative real-valued function measuring the randomness and disorder that a self-morphism creates. In this

Ordered sets as uniformities

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2018
In [7] a relation between completeness of certain uniformity on ordered sets and restrictions of homeomorphisms of compactifications is described. We shall add more details here and correct one proof.

Weak Compatibility and Common Fixed Point Theorems for A-Contractive and E-expansive Maps in Uniform Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 47H10, 54E15.The purpose of this paper is to define the notion of A-distance and E-distance in uniform spaces and give several new common fixed point results for weakly compatible contractive or expansive ...

Variations of classical selection principles: an overview

open access: yes, 2020
The paper is an overview of selected results on weaker forms of classical selection principles of Menger, Hurewicz, Rothberger and Gerlits-Nagy obtained in the last few years.

On the Metrization Lemma for Uniform Spaces

open access: yes, 2001
We show a numeric generalization of the well-known metrization lemma for uniform spaces, thereby answering a question left open in [2] to the affirmative.
