A search for particles of 550 me

Il Nuovo Cimento, 1958
In the experiment reported, mass determinations are essentially based on measurements of energy loss and range. The apparatus for detecting the particles is described. No 550 mass particles were observed in a time interval during which six could have been expected on the basis of their reported abundance.

Search for Mass-550 Particles

Physical Review Letters, 1958
The apparatus used in the search for cosmic-ray particles of mass ~550m/ sub e/ is described. It is concluded that the abundance of mass-550m/sub e/ particles which decay into a light meson is less than about 0.05% relative to mu mesons.

Destruction of C-550 by ultraviolet radiation

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1971
Abstract Low-temperature absorption spectra of spinach chloroplasts measured after different periods of ultraviolet radiation show that C-550 is destroyed by the ultraviolent treatment. Cytochrome b559 is oxidized and denatured so that it is no longer reducible by ascorbate.

550. Tilia Endochrysea. Tiliaceae

Curtis's Botanical Magazine, 2006
Summary. Tilia endochrysea Hand.-Mazz. is native in mixed evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved woods in the mountains of south-eastern China. It differs from all other living species of Tilia in several characters which may be regarded as primitive.

Achieving 550 MHz in an ASIC methodology

Proceedings of the 38th Design Automation Conference (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37232), 2001
Typically, good automated ASIC designs may be two to five times slower than handcrafted custom designs. At last year's DAC this was examined and causes of the speed gap between custom circuits and ASICs were identified. In particular, faster custom speeds are achieved by a combination of factors: good architecture with well-balanced pipelines; compact ...

Search for a mass 550 particle

Il Nuovo Cimento, 1961
The mass of sea level cosmic ray particles has been determined from simultaneous measurements of range, momentum, and Cerenkov light. No resolved measurements around 550 me accompanied 448 stopping μ-mesons. The likelihood of not resolving a bona fide mass 550 particle is estimated to have been not greater than 10%.

An Interpretation of 550 Me Particles

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1959
An explanation is offered for the failure of several authors to detect 550 Me particles. It is suggested that the 550 Me particles are particles charged with (Z = 1/2)e.

A 550 MeV injector microtron for max

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1982
Abstract A 550 MeV electron race-track microtron is described. The race-track microtron should be used as an injector for a pulse-stretcher/storage ring currently being built. Some of the basic theory for the race-strack microtron is discussed and some parameter values for the race-track microtron are given.
