The (–)-Borneol Effect on Addiction/Abstinence by Morphine in Mice

open access: yesDrugs and Drug Candidates, 2023
Opioids such as morphine are the first choice in acute and chronic pain treatment. However, they lead to addiction. Several studies have searched (i) to find a molecule that can replace morphine use or (ii) to reduce its adverse effects.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Target choice and exon skipping regulate CRISPR-directed gene editing of NRF2 in head/neck and esophageal cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Oncology
Head and neck cancer (HNC) is the seventh most diagnosed cancer, with a predicted 30% increase annually by 2030. Conventional treatment is often combinatorial involving chemotherapy and radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and surgery, but over time ...

MicroSQUID Force microscopy in a dilution refrigerator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a new generation of a scanning MicroSQUID microscope operating in an inverted dilution refrigerator. The MicroSQUIDs have a size of 1.21$ \ \mu$m\textsuperscript{2} and a magnetic flux sensitivity of 120 $\mu\Phi_{0} / \sqrt{\textrm{Hz}}$ and ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

On the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule for the deuteron

open access: yes, 1997
The Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule is evaluated for the deuteron by explicit integration up to 550 MeV including contributions from the photodisintegration channel and from coherent and incoherent single pion production as well.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...
