Acoustically Responsive Nanofibrous Scaffolds with 3D Hierarchy for Tympanic Membrane Regeneration

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
This study investigates the influence of molecular, hierarchical, and acoustical stimulation on biofabricated tympanic membrane (TM) scaffolds within a custom‐built bioreactor mimicking the native tissue niche. It demonstrates that synergistically integrated bioactive agents, 3D hierarchical patterns, and sound waves promote the formation of an aligned

Strip loading in reinforced concrete: Mechanical modeling and experimental validation

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Strip loading of reinforced concrete is a common problem in engineering practice. The concrete compressive strength at the load introduction can be several times higher than the uniaxial concrete compressive strength, which can be attributed to geometrical and passive confining stresses caused by load dispersion and reinforcement, respectively.

Taxonomy and nomenclature of Rubus ser. Glandulosi (Rosaceae) across its Eurasian range: Revised concepts and new approaches

open access: yesTAXON, EarlyView.
Abstract Rubus ser. Glandulosi is one of the most taxonomically intricate taxa of the genus, which is by itself considered a taxonomical nightmare. Around 46 species are currently recognised in the group, but most of its morphological diversity could not be classified at the species level until recently due to unclear reproductive patterns, high ...

English in Displacement: Language Learning and Test Preparation Experiences of Refugees and Asylum Seekers

open access: yesTESOL Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract In an effort to better support adult and refugee English language learners, this paper aims to focus on understanding the needs and experiences of one specific group, that is, refugee and asylum seeker healthcare professionals (RASHPs), based in the United Kingdom. RASHPs tend to be highly educated and experienced learners.
